First and foremost, this is a comedy and as other reviewers have mentioned, in the genre of the classic British sitcom. In this respect, it performs outstandingly.
Yes, serious issues are tackled but they are not presented in an overbearing way, rather as part of everyday life. Which they are to the people who have to deal with them.
It has some hilarious moments and there are some excellent one-liners in there. It also has serious moments, including a very emotional and tear-jerking finale.
Jon Pointing deserves a special mention for an absolutely stellar performance as Danny. The rest of the cast all gel together nicely and all play their parts well.
My only criticism - it was too short. There needs to be a Season 2. It more than deserves it.

Absolutely brilliant. Captured the vulnerability of students leaving the nest and going off to uni. Really funny in places and also very touching and emotional. I loved it.
Just finished the finale (hope there's a second season) and this show resonated with me in a huge way. It's so well written, beautifully acted (have to single out Jon Pointing who plays Danny - I thought he was going to be a one dimensional character at the very beginning but wow) and the show has such a massive heart.
Pure brilliance.

The more you watch of this, the more you will get it. Each episode makes your appreciate the whole story a little bit more. It's not meant as a route one comedy, rather it's something slightly more subtle and well worth your time. As a Watfordian, it's also an affectionate and accurate portrayal of that suburban life. I hope there is more.
Great show, well written, sensitively acted, and overall very very funny.
The whole cast give this show their all.
Love it love it love it.
