Korean Drama "L. U. C. A.: The Beginning" had an explosive start, but halfway through changed route and became a completely different drama.
First of all, the main idea of the story is pretty interesting. The sci-fi element was also well managed and didn't lower the quality of the drama. The performances were pretty great as well, and, especially, the action scenes were top-notch.
However, the ending episodes were a completely different drama, with a rom-com family drama twist. That, along with the female lead being an annoying, selfish and arrogant character, along with the miscasting of the male lead, though the actor was excellent performance vice, were the factors that ruined the drama. At least the drama was short and didn't far stretched the story.
So, overall, five out of ten.

This drama had a good headstart, with good actors & actresses rendering the whole series well. The story line started well, in awed by what happened and be revealed but eventually descended into repeated chasing, escaping, electrocuting and mundane reminiscing of a better life. At time, it just doesn't make sense, begging for the many questions of whys & is it necessary. Can't get anywhere better than a 5 from me.

Looking forward for season 2 . We usually watch some sci-fic movie or series without knowing the origin of the story . We watch the story in the middle of the event and later on some flashback scene will tell the history of the event . L.U.C.A : the beginning presents us exactly as the title is written . Don't worry about the history of the story because we all in it ! Great series to start for a new universe . Nicely done !
This was a bad Sci-Fi! Lousy plot, weak writing and unbearable characters. It progressively kept getting worse with every passing minute. It shamelessly tries to be serious but came out as nothing but goofy. The cast performance was meh and the visual effects were passable enough not to look cheap. There were no redeeming qualities to be seen here, nothing but a downward spiral. This was a bad Sci-Fi! Lousy plot, weak writing and unbearable characters. The beginning was interesting after that with every next episode it got worse and worse. The female lead did her best but her character got more annoying as the series progressed, as for the male lead well expected to see a genetically modified human in his 30s he just didn't have that vibe he felt like average 40 years old dude from the street. The action felt like constantly repeating filler. To bad it had a lot of potential, if by some mistake they make season 2 from here I see father, daughter fighting and he probably will lose for one stupid reason or another.
