Good one to watch with family this summer.
Personally, I am impressed by the story, direction, acting and certainly dialogues.
No extra ordinary scenes or superhuman acts, it is just plain plot well-grounded to be accepted by the audience irrespective of the age and class.
Although I could hear people laughing in the theatre at almost every bit of dialogue, I felt that's a bit far-fetched. The story does entertain you and there are humour-filled dialogues and scenes, but surely not as hilarious as one might think.
We all know how brilliant an actor Fahadh is. At the same time I am totally happy for the role essayed by Vineeth.

Fahadh Faasil (re)enters the universe built by the Anthikkads (Sathyan, Anoop, and now the debuting Akhil) and almost single-handedly makes us care for a plot that offers little to no surprises and moves along at a very predictable pace. Don't be turned off by the 2h 51m run-time. Akhil Sathyan mostly treads the footsteps of his father while penning the script for Pachu (shortened), where the routine life of the protagonist suddenly takes a detour owing to the interference of one (or more) female characters. While Sathyan Anthikkad rarely ventured outside Kerala (or Tamil Nadu) to tell his stories filled with "goodness", Akhil Sathyan uses 3 different locations to narrate his - Mumbai, Goa, and Kerala (in bits & pieces). Mumbai and Goa, especially, have been captured nicely.
The humour is mostly subtle and situational, which works in its favour. Some of the casting choices (aside from Fahadh) are superb. Anjana Jayaprakash plays Hamsadhwani, a character that seems inconsequential at first, but blends into the proceedings seamlessly. Scenes featuring Fahadh and her, while carried by Fahadh's improvisations, are wonderful to watch. Vineeth also gets a worthwhile role after a pretty long gap, reminding us that it's not just his voice that Malayalam cinema needs to use more of. Given it's the final film of the late great Innocent, seeing him too brings forth genuine smiles. The subplot that involves saving a poor child from the Goan slums had the potential to fizzle out the entire movie. But the writing never goes the melodramatic route and the performances remain grounded.

Pachuvum Adbhuta Vilakkum, a Malayalam film released in 2023, is a delightful cinematic experience that skillfully tackles various social issues with a touch of humor and sensibility. As a dedicated fan of Fahad, I may be slightly biased, but it is undeniable that his performance adds a magical touch to the movie.
One of the aspects that truly stood out for me in this film is the exceptional work of the Malayalam movie writers. Their ability to capture and portray the intricacies of human emotions with the utmost attention to detail is truly commendable. It's an absolute joy to witness the characters' emotions come to life on the screen, and I particularly appreciate how they seamlessly blend humor and sensitivity in their storytelling.
I had the privilege of watching the movie in its native language with subtitles, ensuring that I didn't miss out on the authentic essence of the film. It's always a wonderful experience to immerse oneself in a regional movie's cultural nuances and linguistic beauty, and Pachuvum Adbhuta Vilakkum certainly did not disappoint in this regard.
One of the greatest strengths of this film is its family-friendly nature. It provides wholesome entertainment that viewers of all ages can enjoy. I enjoyed watching it with my kids and parents, and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable for all of us. The movie managed to evoke genuine smiles and leave us with a sense of contentment.
In conclusion, Pachuvum Adbhuta Vilakkum is an absolute gem of Malayalam cinema in 2023. It adeptly addresses significant social issues while maintaining a lighthearted and enjoyable narrative. Fahad's captivating performance adds a touch of magic to the film, and the writers' ability to depict emotions with incredible precision is awe-inspiring. If you're looking for a clean and heartwarming movie that can be cherished with your loved ones, this film is a perfect choice.

The simple scene sequences and simple characters are the best part of this movie... at the same time the characters changes their colour abruptly throughout the movie, this one issue reduces the authenticity of the movie...
There are lot of Fahad moments and his presence felt from the beginning to end. With great cast and acting, there is still something missing... There are too many characters and side stories, which makes the main story also like another side story...
The kid swamy and grandma are awesome...Fahad did multiple times similar roles... One time watchable...

I'm really happy about the way the movie turned out. Such a feel good cinema. It's been a while since I watched such a nicely taken family movie.
Written and directed perfectly.
The casting is perfect. Will surely melt anyone with a heart. Really happy to know that Malayalam cinema is secure with the next generation of film makers. Can't congratulate the director enough. Worthy of debut by Akhil Sathen, Son of Sathyen Anthicad (A perfect movie to start his directorial career indeed).
Can't find much flaws, but to nit pick, i may say that the length is a bit on the longer side but not lagged even a little. So that too is not a problem.

If Fahadh Faasil is in it, I watch the movie because I know it won't be that bad of a script. Found Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum on Amazon Prime and started watching it.
It's a 2.5-hour-long movie, but you won't be disappointed at the end. A very simple narrative of a Malayali guy living in Mumbai who wants to make it big. Things change when he accidentally returns to Kerala, and the story unfolds.
The first half was quite slow, but it had some beautiful comic relief. Fahadh portrayed these roles remarkably, where he acts a bit dumb but tries to be smart to get what he wants.
The movie's length is long because there are too many characters, and everyone has a story to tell. So at times, it does get a bit convoluted. However, the second half was definitely more enjoyable, and you really want to see what happens at the climax.
It's definitely a film you can watch with your family. There's a beautiful message about female education and dealing with personal losses, except it ends on a positive note.
Honestly, the Malayalam industry has made too many comedy-dramas like this too often. In fact, it reminded me of Fahadh's previous film "Njan Prakashan," which also follows the same recipe of some comedy, a bit of tragedy, but a happy ending.
If you can spare 2.5 hours for a film, Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum is worth a watch. 7/10 for me.

Yeah! A movie worth ENJOYING at the big screen for all kind of audience, after a long time in Mollywood. An awesome feel-good movie filled with humor.
Fahadh is brilliant with his script selection in recent years! Him being phenomenal as usual and supported by the fantastic performance of others(especially the child & grandma), the cast is just perfect. The performances of Vineeth and Anjana are also to be noted. Each one of them has put out their best for it. The craftsman Akhil Sathyan has done a brilliant job with the wonderful story(written by himself) and in engaging the audience with all the emotions a movie can convey. In fact, I loved it more than the spectacular "Njan Prakashan".
There are a few scenes that relates very much to our lives, that could really make us emotional. The dialogues are explicit and plays a key role in making the movie this much gripping. The film is a little bit lengthy, which is NOT AT ALL a negative factor, but blesses us with more moments to enjoy this beautiful piece of art.
This is a not-to-miss-in-theatre movie, amazing experience.

It was an easy watch for me up until the scene of Riyas' plane flying over some slums. You see a dog limping across the screen, in obvious pain.
I could not stop thinking about about that poor animal after that. I really do hope that the filming crew did the right thing and got the poor dog medical attention immediately.
Please be kind to animals, they cannot speak for themselves.
Besides that, the movie was good, as expected. I do not speak Malayalam, but every time I see that Fawad is in a movie, I do not hesitate to take time out and sit down to read subtitles and watch the movie. He does not disappoint.

"Outstanding! That's the word that comes to mind after watching this movie. The story was gripping, the direction was top-notch, and the performances were outstanding. But what really stood out for me was Fahad Fasil's amazing performance. He portrayed his character with such depth and intensity that it left me in awe.
Fahad Fasil's acting was so powerful that he made me forget I was watching a movie. He completely immersed himself in the role, and it showed in every scene he was in. He brought a range of emotions to his character, from anger to vulnerability, and everything in between. It was truly a masterful performance that will be remembered for a long time.
The movie as a whole was also fantastic. The story was well-crafted, and the direction was masterful. The supporting cast was also great, but Fahad Fasil was the standout performer.
In conclusion, if you're a fan of great movies and amazing acting, this movie is a must-watch. Fahad Fasil's performance alone is worth the price of admission. Overall, a truly outstanding movie that will stay with you long after you've watched it."

Movie carries a good message and all actors performance was satisfactory. But it appears in all Kerala movies these days makers subtly add scenes to make it cool to eat beef and other things that devalue Indic traditions. To any watchers of this movie.
While you watch for the good message I suggest you strongly protest as I am doing. If this fine for the majority of Keralites, God might have left his own country for the lack of compassion amongst other things.
Its a casual film to watch with your family except the part I mentioned in the above para. The lead actress appeared too glamorous to the lead actor in other wise a realistic cast. Movie ends well, Its sad to see in this day and age slums as shown in the movie exists and children are denied education in India where its free.

Pachuvum Albuthavilakkum is a feel good movie that can be watched with family, and is very much inline or similar to Sathyan Anthikkad films. When it comes to Sathyan Anthikkad films, especially over the last decade, we know not to expect a gripping and strong storyline, but to get introduced to different characters whom we meet during different phases of their lives. This movie is no different and the son doesn't try anything new other than may be starting the story with Mumbai as backdrop and not Chennai :)
The movie has many light moments and Fahadh Fasil and the other artists have done a great job portraying the characters assigned to them. The movie takes a turn when Paachu (Fahadh) meets Ummachi (Viji Venkatesh) and from there the movie becomes predictable and a bit dragging. But Akhil has been able to keep the audience engaged by adding in elements of emotions and comedy at right pace. Few scenes from the movie can be hand-picked that really left an emotional connect and made the viewers relate to the characters. The movie also makes people think the purpose of their lives and about the unending desire to make more money. The songs are well suited for the situation and completes the movie as in numerous Sathyan Anthikkad films.
Please step in for this movie without expectations and you'll have the satisfaction of having laughed while at the same time thinking deeply about various stages and desires of life.

A beautiful, feel-good movie that offers a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the whole family. Avoiding unnecessary scenes and masala elements, focusing instead on delivering a heartfelt and relatable story. Simplicity of the film allows genuine emotions to shine through.
Ummachi will win all hearts, you will love and hate Raisu, Pachu just shines through the entire movie and the lead actress also does her role perfectly. Others will smaller roles also make the movie thoroughly enjoyable.
A true gem of a movie that delivers a beautiful, feel-good experience for the whole family. It's a refreshing departure from the noise an enjoyable journey.

Recent Malayalam films: Feel-good tale, stellar performances, stunning unrelated landscapes, predictable tunes, culturally rooted events, and dialogue. But alas, it's a snooze fest! While these elements make it watchable, the frustration mounts. "Just watchable" isn't enough; filmmakers must go beyond. Give the audience something exceptional, memorable, and captivating. Break the formula, explore new horizons, and leave us awestruck. Don't settle for generic endings; surprise us, challenge us, and make us ponder. Malayalam cinema has the potential for greatness; let's raise the bar and deliver films that truly resonate.
Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum is a sweet feel good film, fronted by a lively Fahadh Faasil with his perfect comic timing and firmly aided by it's supporting cast. Prashanth aka Pachu, a single guy, running a pharmacy in Mumbai. During his visit to Kerala, he is asked to accompany Laila back to Mumbai via train but she ditches him by getting down in Goa. The reason for her action is a girl named Nidhi, whom Laila wants to protect and secure a deserving future. How Prashanth takes it upon himself to bring back Nidhi and also finds love in the process forms rest of the story.
To speak of the negative point, the film's first half is a tedious watch as the story only begins pre-interval. Until then the screenplay simply wanders around with very few comedy scenes working. Once the backstory of Nidhi is narrated, the film instantly gets back on track with the right set of emotions and humor blended in. The post interval simply becomes Fahadh Faasil's show firmly aided by Anjana Jayaprakash as Hamsadhwani. There is barely a dull moment in the second half as the narrative becomes that smooth.
The film is too long and with a shorter runtime and a better first act, it would've definitely had far better impact. The emotions run high in the second half yet the melodrama doesn't go overboard. It might turn out as too convenient including the climax, but there are far too many scenes that stand out in the second half making it an endearing watch.

What a movie and what a concept! If Tamil Nadu has Vijay, Kerala has Fahadh! He is a monster in acting. He gave life to this movie. Kudos to the director, writer and producer for taking this up. I wonder how the writer could think of this. Honestly the title was not appealing at all. I had no intention to pick this movie, then I found this trending in the top list and picked it up. It was not disappointing at all. If this movie had to be made in Tamil Nadu, the director has to add item song, centiment scenes, comedian and so on. No offenses. Love the peculiar way of story telling in Kerala! It's a must watch. I was so hooked into the story. Though there are many branch stories in the movie, they all blended so well. The female lead and other characters have done a good job! This movie made my weekend and brought me out of boredom.

For starters, I do not understand why some of the reviewers give 1 star to this film, may be they very high expectation with the movie.
I saw the movie on Amazon Prime, and it just felt like a fresh air. Although, the story was simple, yet the director keeps you engaged with different turns of the movie.
Faahad and the actress, did justice with their characters. Others added humour with dialogues and lastly, the movie has a beautiful message of how if we want, only one person can uplift the society, how we can change families by literacy.
To be frank, I do not understand Malyalam but this is not my first malyalam movie and it was worth the time I spent, with it's emotions and story. Faahad, was wonderful, the movie deserves at least 8 stars.
Do watch it to feel better about life!

A great feel good film after a long time!
Pure bliss. The film has a mild color tone throughout and the music is breezy.
Story has an important message to deliver but it is not imposing. Its well developed. Screenplay flows without confuaions. Cinematography is nice. The colour and tone of frames are gentle all the time. Many frames are so beautiful.
The cast! Fahadh as usual is great. Other actors including the Nidhi character have done a fantastic job.
The two songs elevate the mood of the film. And the background music is soothing.
Overall a great watch. A funny, feel good but heat warming story. Must watch.

Very bad movie. There is no story. Fahad Fasil performed well. Waste of money and time. There is no magic in the movie. Film was too lengthy. Story was dragging. I went to watch this movie when i saw imbd rating of 8. I dont know who rated 8. My personal rating is 1. Its a family movie. You can sit with kids and family and can watch the movie.
Please dont spend ur money for the movie. Money and time will be wasted. Film was dragging. I wont suggest anyone to go to theatre and spend money and time. The story is dragging not interesting at all. I prefer to stay at home rather than going to theatre.

"Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum" is a thought-provoking Malayalam language film that showcases the transformative journey of its protagonist, Pachu, portrayed brilliantly by Fahadh Faasil. Directed by Akhil Sathyan, who also serves as the film's writer and editor, this film delves into the depths of humanity, presenting a simple yet profound tale that captivates the audience from start to finish.
One of the film's greatest strengths lies in its storytelling. Through Pachu's eyes, we witness a compelling character arc that takes him from being an opportunistic individual to someone driven by a genuine desire to help others. The narrative skillfully weaves together numerous sub-plots that gradually unfold, providing us with a comprehensive understanding of Pachu's remarkable journey.
The performances in "Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum" are commendable across the board, with Fahadh Faasil delivering an exceptional portrayal. As Pachu, Faasil effortlessly immerses himself in the character, breathing life into every nuance and emotion. However, it is also worth mentioning the noteworthy performance of Anjana Jayaprakash as Hamsadhwani, the lead actress in the film. Anjana played her role with conviction, effectively complementing Pachu's character arc.
Hamsadhwani, named after the melodic raaga in Carnatic music, adds an intriguing layer to the film. Often sung as a beginning raaga in performances, Hamsadhwani's name could hold hidden meaning, symbolizing the start of a new chapter in Pachu's life. Anjana Jayaprakash portrays the character of Hamsadhwani with conviction, effectively complementing Pachu's character arc. Her portrayal adds depth and emotional resonance to the narrative.
While the film is engaging, it does suffer from a few incongruous sequences that detract from its overall impact. For instance, there are instances where certain sub-plots seem disconnected from the main narrative, adding unnecessary length to the film. These sequences, while not adding substantial value, divert the attention from the central story and undermine the film's cohesiveness.
Furthermore, there is a particular instance involving an encounter between Pachu and a child on a train. Initially, the child speaks in English but is instructed to speak in Malayalam. This inconsistency in language use seems out of place and could have been addressed more effectively through thoughtful dialogue. These incongruities hinder the film's thematic cohesion and detract from its otherwise strong narrative.
Directed by Akhil Sathyan, "Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum" skillfully explores the intertwining journeys of Pachu and Hamsadhwani. The intricate character dynamics and their development throughout the film contribute to its overall impact. The synergy between Fahadh Faasil and Anjana Jayaprakash brings an added layer of authenticity to the narrative, further enhancing the viewing experience.
In conclusion, "Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum" impresses with its thought-provoking storytelling and remarkable performances. Fahadh Faasil shines as Pachu, while Anjana Jayaprakash leaves a lasting impression as Hamsadhwani. Directed by Akhil Sathyan, this film beautifully captures the essence of its characters and their transformative arcs. While some incongruous sequences hinder its cohesiveness, "Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum" remains a commendable cinematic experience that resonates with its exploration of humanity and personal growth.

This movie is just superb with core message on education, love, greed and helpfulness.

It's a very nice jovial movie. Anjana, Dhwani, Viji and as usual Fahadh Faasil did a wonderful acting. Other actors also did a wonderful job.
Overall story and screen play is good. It is fast paced and really gripping from start to end. It's a good movie and I definitely liked the way the story goes and the picturisation.
Cannot make out that all the three leading ladies in this movie have debuted from this movie. Their acting was really good and very well supported by others.
The last scene and the way Nidhi explains her urge to study is really awesome. Even the hard nuts also gave up and started supporting her. Very well picturised and good direction by Akhil.

Too many unnecessary characters spoil what could have been a decent family entertainer. As excellent as the lead cast are in their performances, they can't keep the story propped up well enough for the duration of the movie. You're left wondering why some characters were needed at all and are often perplexed over how the story meanders weakly. If this was filmed as a TV series of sorts where different episodes allowed different actors to showcase their skills, it would have ben ideal.. Instead as a viewer you're confused by the sudden twists towards the end and feel that a lot of people contributed towards changes in the story. A good production can't be propped up by a frustrating storyline.
