I usually check IMDb to ensure a movie has at least a 6.5 rating before watching, but recently I've given more 5-rated films a chance, and I'm glad I did with this one. In my opinion, it deserves a higher rating. I decided to watch it based on recent reviews praising it, and I wasn't disappointed.
Yes, the cinematography feels more low-budget, but the plot and acting were unexpectedly strong. Unlike many higher-rated films where I find myself saying, "That would never happen" or "That doesn't make sense," this movie captured situations in a way that felt real. It reminds you that these things do happen.
While the subject matter made it a tough watch at times, I thought it was a well-executed film. If you're debating whether to give it a shot, I'd recommend it-it just might surprise you.

It does keep you guessing right up until the end, because the end is a complete surprise you didn't see coming. There are some things that bothered me about the movie. The acting was a little forced at times, kind of like a bad TV movie. There wasn't enough depth to the characters, or the villain. And why didn't the three girls fight harder, I saw opportunities early on they could have exploited. Why did he do what he did? The Movie alludes to it but doesn't really say. The Hooks in the concrete basement floor the girls were chained to were obviously there for a long time. Had he been abducting women for a long time? Or was it something to do with the villain's mother?
Later in the movie Callie finds two little green toy soldiers that boys play with hidden in a crack next to her Chain hook in the concrete? Was the villain chained there as a kid, perhaps by his mother because he was "bad"? The upstairs of the house has an old feel to it...the furniture, the decorations. It almost looks like he's living in his mother's house, but you never see the mother. It did leave me with those questions, I felt like it could have been better with a little more back story and depth. But it wasn't all lacking, the plot and the girls kept me intrigued. Wanting to know more and see where it all ended up. And the end is a complete surprise, good one there!
From what I could find out this is a very young Indie film outfit with this being their first Major full length feature movie. Given all that, I'd say it was pretty good. In fact I'd say they would be ones to watch in the near future as they hone their craft and produce better and better movies.
So, yes, it's worth a watch.

This movie is by far better than these very bad reviews you're seeing. It is definitely an independent movie but in the absolute best way possible. The story is unique, the acting is genuine and the characters are captivating. You really get sucked in right away and you feel like you know the people you're watching. The story is told beautifully, I appreciate that they focus on the women and not the bad guy. It's refreshing to have a woman writer for once and it shows. AND THE TWIST! Wow, I really did not see that coming. Seriously it is totally worth the watch! And who doesn't like to support independent artists right?
Great Movie! Love the ending! Very suspenseful! The actors and actresses did a nice job. I really liked how it got us hooked in the very beginning. The ending had a neat twist. Not what I had expected at all. Very good storyline. I like how they tied all three of the characters together. The male detective was very funny. Will definitely recommend this movie to others. It had a combination of humor and suspense. It was very believable. The opening was very engaging. The music throughout the movie was well thought out. I like the idea of all of the flashbacks....especially when the therapist was a young girl.
A very unusual movie and tricky to review. The script reads like it should fit in the "torture porn" genre -- a strangely popular film theme in 2024 -- but no, it doesn't. On diggimg deeper, we realize that is because the script was written by one of the three female leads. Which is also unusual. It is clearly a low-budget indie, yet it runs for almost two hours, a length usually reserved for Hollywood blockbusters. Unusual. For most of its run-length, it can't seem to decide if it wants to be a police procedural, or a character study of women in jeopardy. Because of this indecision, it ultimately fails at both. Yet the production values are excellent and it does hold the attention. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer."
