The opening bit made me think of Lost highway (but worse cuz no david bowie) i think this film would have been better if i went in completely blind. But i still liked it. Nick (mister Main character guy) sounds like he's been smoking a pack everyday since the incident which made this movie unintentionally funny for me at times lol. I didn't like the bit with the lights flashing tho made my eyes hurt. Don't wanna think about what would have happened if i was epileptic. I think the endings got to do with the parallel worlds thing said by the tarrot lady. So after sacrificing himself to the "pumpkinhole" nick goes to an alternate reality where he just went to the city and the jacob from that reality gets sent here. Poor guy is gonna be so confused.
In spite of being a certainly slow-paced movie, Pumpkinhole manages to keep you entertained the whole time.
Even though the cause of the pumpkin visions is very obvious from the beginning if you pay attention, it's kind of interesting how they managed to pull the triggers with some nice plot twists by the end.
Not gonna spoil but I found the bittersweet ending really interesting and it made me think lots because I really believe in parallel universes and the simulation theory (which was kinda pointed at indirectly).
Anyway, if you want food for thought, this film is for you.

Beautiful little indie flick, almost cosmic horror weaved through a sad and simple story, keeps you guessing right to the end, and waves it's love of Our King David - THE greatest and most inspiring artist of ever - on high, and does so exceptionally well. A very thoughtful and moving piece of work. Fans of the equally brilliant indie horror classic 'Jughead' should investigate immediately.
