It's a low budget movie and I don't mind watching them. There are many low budget movies that are great.
This though........ The acting isn't quite there. The effects, script etc just FEELS cheap.
Found their Facebook posts about their trailer. A few excited people. Going to guess they're the ones who rated this.

I can not believe actors that can act is so expensive you take the first ones who audition, but it seems like it.
I usually give B-horror some chances. Thinking about budget etc I don't expect much, but this is just bad through and through. The plot is ok. It could have been good. The main character is among the worst actors I have seen. He was one of those read from the script actors. The others did not blow my mind either. They are in the right category with the B flick, but of course there's always room for improvement.
I will not recommend this at all. The good grades have to be from people who knows the writer/director or some of the actors. No one with an eye for quality will give this move a good grade.

Ok, so you you inherit a house in nowhere. That is actually is good shape. Then you start poking around and are noticed by the locals. All civil and like. Nice people, right?
Uh huh. Then, well, all hell breaks loose.
If you can put on your imagination caps and filter out the bad scripting, acting, directing, cinematography, etc. You can still get a descent nightmare out of it.

This film begins with a young man by the name of "Stanley DeFeo" (Chance Gibbs) receiving a phone call telling him that his grandmother "Marie Cameron" (Micha Marie Stevens) has recently passed away and has bequeathed her house to him. Considering that he never even knew his grandmother, this news catches him completely by surprise. Even so, after conferring with his girlfriend "Crystal" (Lara Clapp Williams), he packs up his car and drives it to the small town of Amityville to check it out. Once inside the house, he comes across a diary his grandmother has written and, after reading it, he begins to have some concerns about the house he just inherited. However, it isn't until he goes back into town that he realizes that something very strange is going on--and he seems to be the center of attention. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that I liked the overall plot of the movie which, if done properly, could have had considerable potential. Unfortunately, this was not the case here as most of the actors tended to be a bit more demonstrative than their scenes required. In more simple terms, a number of them over-acted with Eric Oberto (as "Asmodeus") and Tom Young ("Jeremy") probably being the worst. To be fair, though, the director (Trey Murphy) shares some of the blame--especially since he also wrote the script. Likewise, although the film never really mentions it, the scenery sure looked a bit more like Texas or New Mexico than New York. But what do I know? In any case, I don't consider this to be a good movie by any means, and I have rated it accordingly.
This was sent to me with some other films, I was willing to give it a shot despite having only a few films I consider good in the Amityville franchise (Or at least those using its name) that being The Original Amityville Horror, the 2005 remake, Amityville 2 : The Possession (My favorite), Amityville It's About Time and The Amityville Murders (A loose remake of Amityville 2). Those are all very well done and good. Like I said, With all the horrific and silly mass of films I would never even watch one of the sillier things (Amityville shark and Amityville karen and ridiculous stuff like that).
So when this dvd was in a few sent to me I gave it a go. I will say instantly I don't give high scores to any film less than 90 minutes so that's an instant point loss. But in its defense, the acting was ok, and this tried to be serious and tell a story. It wasn't slapstick or parody and embarrassing, it was a just a small indie film that tried to tell a little horror story and it was a decent watch. Not really any bad things to say about it, it did what it could with its budget and ability and I didn't leave it feeling like I needed to throw it away or out of my collection. So I'd say it was at least one of the serious ones and an alright watch. I gave it a 5/10 to help make up for the usual and typical troll scores well known to this site. In truth, I'd give it a 4.4/10 in honesty and for effort,
