Comedy icon, Colin Mochrie, hosts Mass Hysterical, a Comedic Cantata. This video is a collaboration between alumni of Second City Toronto and members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Matthew Reid with Carly Heffernan (creators of the smash hit, Second City Guide to the Symphony) are back with a cheeky look at the history of classical music in the church. Mass Hysterical celebrates more than 1000 years of ecclesiastical music, taking a satirical but loving look at the repertoire, the composers, the personalities, and even the congregations themselves. The story starts in the Dark ages and marches through the years with nods to composers like Bach, Handel and Mozart. This production includes a chamber ensemble from the TSO and four Second City actors who will perform a variety of songs, dialogue and comedy. Special guest soloists Russell Braun and Julia Dawson are joined by the Mass Hysterical Chorus.
