Top 3 episodes of the show, the story of this one is absolutely great and it works superbly as a short story since it packs quite a punch with the amazing ending. The only bad thing about the episode is a somewhat disjointed pacing.
I disagree heavily with some of the reviews saying the animation isn't good, that's just a totally poor understanding of animation. The animation on this is one is gorgeous. It's highly stylized, but the drawing is really rich and the visuals are incredibly beautiful. Talking purely about animation quality this one is only behind "Lop & Ochô" and "The Village Bride".
Inconsistent show overall, especially the awful second episode, but it was worth watching for the best episodes and this was a fantastic one to end it.

I know you can probably think of a few movies or shows that were fantastic but then were completely ruined by the ending. This is the exact opposite. While it's mostly boring and poorly paced throughout and you don't really care about the characters, the ending is somehow so good in spite of what comes before. I'd say overall.. 6.5 out of 10. I'll say 7 though.
Music was terrible for the style and mode of the episode. I couldn't follow it.
The atmosphere was good, but that was pretty much all that I enjoyed here. Poor animation, bad fights and NOT an original story. Could have been so much more.
Much better story of a fallen Jedi than the prequels. Way more believable than the terrible prequels for a Jedi turn Sith.

- Quotes
Tsubaki: Misa, do they really need to be here?
Kamahachi: [scoffs] 'Scuse me?
Tsubaki: From what I can tell, you can't seem to fight.
Kamahachi: I see. Jedi judge by appearances, do they? Heh. If you must know, we're not strong fighters.
[chuckles]
Senshuu: Heh. We can't even fend off wild tooka-cats!
[both laugh]
