James Earl Jones, Hayden Christensen, and Dmitrious Bistrevsky in Part V (2022)
At Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, Rosario Dawson teases what to expect from "Ahsoka" Season 2 as well as what storylines to revisit from "The Clone Wars," "Obi-Wan Kenobi," and "Rebels." She expresses her appreciation for deep-cut episodes and fan art that explores how Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) could be redeemed after his turn to the Dark Side of the Force.

This is what we waited for.

Part V is exactly what the title implies. It's what we waited for, the episode brings back Kenobi almost to what we knew in the prequels while also giving the emotional character moments we needed.

    SPOILERS AHEAD...

This is the first episode to contain full flashbacks giving us a better look at reva's backstory and showing meaningful moments in Kenobi/Anakind history, despite some ineffective de-aging on Hayden Christensen they were very well executed linking into the story at the same time.

Also Vader was no joke in this episode with the improvements since the late 70s early 80s they can really show of Vader at full potential and he is nothing short of terrifying.

I'm trying really hard to love it.

I love Star Wars. LOVE STAR WARS. I'm doing my best to love this, and there are elements that are incredible, but there are weak points in the writing/CGI (and some acting) that are hurting the story.

While many others have referenced that the twist was inevitable, it was also too late. This is only a 6-part show. The slow and uneven pace is hurting the positives this show has going for it, creating an emptiness and even a bit of redundancy (how many times can Leia be captured etc). Plus the fight between Reva and Vader was like watching a youngling train, with Vader barely trying, which would have been great if they weren't acting like it was an intense fight...? Just feels like the whole show is a little misguided, like maybe they could have used a few more script edits before going to film.

I want to love it. I sort of like it. I wish it was better than episodes I-III instead of right in line with them.

a glimpse of what this show could have actually been

It's truly sad when you see the wasted potential of this show and this episode is the very reminder of that. Don't get me wrong it still has some of the big issues and you can still feel how bad some of those actors are doing but this episode is the first one that actually focuses on the most important thing which is Vader and Kenobi and their emotional conflicts. Overall, though brought down at times by the problems we already saw in the previous episodes, this episode actually felt like it was related to its source material, it was enjoyable and the best one so far.

    Redemption Episode

I was questioning watching episode 5, glad I did. Respect to the writers on having a vision this whole time, was really sure they were kind of full of it. This episode has a much more of a mature feel to it that episodes 1-4 should have had. Could not be happier with this.

Andrew Stanton he wrote it thats why this was different

Did you feel similar sentiment of wall e, and toy story, where there it is. Disney should have let Andrew Stanton write the whole thing.

Should petition Stanton to write a new show "Darth Vader" where he mindlessly chops off jedis.

If Darth Vader could use his telekinetic Force powers to pull back a ship in flight (and additionally pull it apart), he could've used that ability during other necessary times throughout the films. (e.g. in 'The Empire Strikes Back' when the Millennium Falcon is taking off from Hoth as he was walking towards it to capture the heroes).

Inquisitor Reva: If this is you stalling for time, it won't work. Lord Vader will have you at any cost.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: You mean, Anakin. You know who Vader was. Back on Daiyu, how did you know that? Vader would have kept that hidden, and you're too young to have known him. Unless... Unless you were there.

Inquisitor Reva: It doesn't matter where I was.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: The night of Order 66, you were a youngling. That's how you know. You saw him.

      Inquisitor Reva: Stop.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Anakin killed the others.

      Inquisitor Reva: That's enough.
