With Noah languishing in jail. A desperate Kathy takes her anger out on those around her.
As the Turkish criminal system can drag on and on. She takes up the lawyer's idea to offer a bribe to the police.
Henpecked husband Martin decides to take his own initiative when approached by a freelance journalist. Martin tells the journalist their side of the story.
With the case hitting the headlines, the Turks double down in prosecuting the case.
As this is a Sheridan Smith vehicle. The focus leans heavily on her and her anger at the expense of other characters. When it moves to her sister, it is for an incongruous romance with an hotel employee.
If only Martin and Kathy talked to each other about their intentions. They could be flying home with their son.
Then again they are characters who you really do not care about too much. They have not even bothered to Google just how the criminal justice system works in Turkey.

Another good episode with a plausible script unlike The Teacher which Sheridan Smith and her new facelift also appeared in last week.
A good watch even if the acting is perhaps a bit weak (everything seems to revolve around Kathy so it is hard to have empathy for the other characters).
Like The Teacher, I spend most of my time looking to see things that prove things aren't filmed where they should be but, unlike Channel 5, ITV have put in a lot of effort to make the setting seem credible.
Still worthwhile watching.

Both Kathy and Martin pursue different paths to try and ensure Noah's freedom, naturally efforts backfire.
The plot thickens, in what is a good, solid second episode, I like the way external factors are affecting the situation, with poor Noah the victim.
If I had one criticism, it's that the story focused a little too much on Kathy, and not on Noah, I adore Sheridan Smith, and or course she's great, but she did somewhat overshadow events somewhat.
I wonder if it will put a little fear into some planning on going to Turkey, it's funny, but the prison looks a more appealing complex than the hideous hotel complex, that really is an eye sore.
Intriguing, 7/10.
