Not Traditional Star Wars, but brilliant.

It's not your traditional Star wars by any means. None of your typical army stuff and jedi and sith, but merely a regional police force hunting criminals. Criminals who have a life and get on witj it. I feel Andor so far has illustrated perfectly the life of a commoner in the Star wars universe and brought a rather unique experience along side it.

We see the attitude towards the empire from normal people.

This episode more specifically, we get a brilliant sense of tension and action. Most definitely the best episode of the series so far and lays a solid groundwork for what is soon to come. Very good stuff.

    A Very Good One

So after two episodes of build-up and characterization, which nothing really happened if we're being honest but I enjoyed them because this is a tv show, not a movie or a mini-series, this episode acts as the climax of everything that the first two episodes were building up to and I thought it was pretty good.

From the somewhat creative action scenes and the use of the environment to keep the action fresher and not be just shooting, to the decent cinematography and the music, this episode was really good and enjoyable.

I think the writing is just decent, not bad and not great either, but just good enough. We've seen so much bad writing in Star Wars under Disney that this run-of-the-mill cliché-filled (but cliché with good execution and implementation) is acceptable for me.

What I appreciate from this show, and having seen Rogue One it's basically expected, is that it doesn't try to paint the protagonist as a "hero" or the good guy, yet, which was one of the major reasons why The Book of Boba Fett sucked so bad. Apparently, Disney and other studios have a real hard time making a movie or show where the bad guy is the protagonist and have to make them a good guy no matter what, and Boba Fett was the worst of them.

And speaking of not painting Andor as the good guy, they also do a good job of showing Syril Karn and slowly developing him as a character and his completely justified hatred toward Andor. Syril might as well could have been the protagonist of the show if it was told from his pov. So they're doing a good job of keeping the characters gray and human.

So far the show is really good but we're just 3 episodes in a season with 12, so the actual plot hasn't been that clear yet and it's slowly developing, but from what I'm seeing, we're maybe looking at another Mandalorian with decent writing and good characters. Looking forward to where the plot and characters are gonna go from here.

    A New Hope

After the last trilogy and shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, I foresaw a very grim scenario for the future of the Star Wars live-action universe. But Andor, quite literally, gave me a new hope.

The first two episodes move at a slow pace, but everything that is portrayed has a purpose to move the story forward and create a powerful build-up.

Episode 3 comes as the perfect conclusion to the first trilogy of episodes that were released. It is emotional, epic, and a truly refreshing deep-dive into a grounded context of Star Wars. All characters have depth and the soundtrack is mesmerizing (Nicholas Britell once again with the stellar work).

Terrific cinematography and storytelling which leaves us incredibly curious for what is yet to come.

Definitely one of the most interesting Star Wars shows/movies in a long time.

Andor is better than I previously imagined!

I think we got us a bona fide hit here folks!

I wasn't sure how I'd react to this new series after recently seeing the official trailer but decided to check it out, being a SW fan and all.

I literally just finished watching all three available episodes (1, 2 and 3) in one sitting and was pretty blown away to say the least!

It's got everything going for it (story, script, great acting, interesting characters, cinematography, sound, visual effects, etc.). I'm stoked to see how it plays out over the next 3 episodes.

I'm not saying it's better than The Mandalorian at this point but I think as the story progresses, it's poised to give it a run for it's money which is fine by me!

Cassian Andor's origin story and his path to the great rebellion...I should've known it would end up being epic. It definitely is!!

These are the stories we want to see

I couldnt review the first 2 episodes separately to this one so this is one review for the 3 episodes as they are combine to be an hour and half of Star Wars that we know and cant wait to delve back into!

As with any prequel story we know where the series will finish up with Andors demise at the hands of a single reactor shot from the Death Star on Scariff. From the start of this series we do get exactly the same vibes as we did from Disney best movie of Star Wars Rogue One. From the moment we met him in that film he would and did do anything to save himself and this is totally shown with his brutal actions with the 2 guards.

So much of the criticism of the story so far has been the flash back but by the time the beginning of the final 3rd is shown we really get to know that his race were like the stone ages and take off world by 2 scavengers which is a great origin for someone who made a living in the rebellion hoping not to be found.

The story telling and action meld together as one and dont distract from the other, with the showrunners being apart of the original film its proven to be a great choice to bring them back for the character that they brought to life. Stellen is another awesome addition to the Star Wars universe and cant wait to see his relation to Saw Guerria who we know is going to return later in the series!

Just roll on the next episode the same as the Mandalorian and the Book of Boba Fett. How can the tv series be better than most of the Disney movies but with writing and story telling like this get them on the big budgets.

When B2EMO is seen during the flashback sequence, the droid looks much shinier, cleaner and less battered. However, an article in the Star Wars Insider issue 227 (August, 2024) reveals that only one prop was actually built. Magnetic exterior panels could be swapped out to turn the droid from shiny and new to dented and scratched.

Cassian Andor: Look, you got the money. I got the box. What else is there to talk about?

Luthen Rael: I'll give you another thousand credits to tell me how you got it.

      Cassian Andor: [Chuckles] Another thousand?

      Luthen Rael: Done. How?

Cassian Andor: You just walk in like you belong.

Luthen Rael: Takes more than that, doesn't it?

Cassian Andor: What? To steal from the Empire? What do you need? A uniform, some dirty hands and an Imperial tool kit. They're so proud of themselves, they don't even care. They're so fat and satisfied, they can't imagine it.

      Luthen Rael: Can't imagine what?

Cassian Andor: That someone like me would ever get inside their house, walk their floors, spit in their food, take their gear.

Luthen Rael: The arrogance is remarkable, isn't it? They don't even think about us.

Cassian Andor: Us? I don't know you.

Luthen Rael: Fair enough, but I know you. These days will end, Cassian Andor. The way they laugh. The way they push through a crowd. The sound of that voice telling you to stop, to go, to move. Telling you to die. Rings in the ear, doesn't it?

Cassian Andor: Why don't you let me count that money?

Luthen Rael: But they'll think about us soon enough.

Cassian Andor: We should get moving.

Luthen Rael: Soon enough, they'll have something else to listen to.

Cassian Andor: You don't want to get caught with it!

Luthen Rael: Oh, they'd hang me, would they? Take me up Rix Road and hang me in the square. Wouldn't be the first time, would it? Isn't that where they hung your father?

Cassian Andor: [Draws and cocks weapon and points it] Who are you! What is this?

Luthen Rael: [Cassian walks toward Luthen with his gun aimed] I said I know you. I know all about you. And yes, I want the box, and I'll leave with that if it's all I can get. I came looking for something more and I think I found it. I'd like you to come with me.

Cassian Andor: [Cassian walks closer and points his gun in front of Luthen's head] How do you know about me?

Luthen Rael: I was hoping for a more relaxed conversation but you're right, we don't have time. Contrary to what you told me, I doubt that you'll be sticking around. I know you killed two Corpos at Morlana-One, and I know they're coming for you. Seems like such a waste to let them have you. A waste of talent.

Cassian Andor: [Cassian pushes gun between Luthen's eyes and whispers] Who are you?

Luthen Rael: That's the wrong question. The right question is how much time do we have to get out of here.

Cassian Andor: Why would I go anywhere with you?

Luthen Rael: Don't you want to fight these bastards for real?
