Ren Montero in A.D. (2008)

Trivia

A.D.

Edit
Was originally written to be a five-part short film serial chronicling the adventures of Allison and Khalia leading up to issue #1 of an A.D. comic book. However, due to the scope of the project, "Part One" became bookended as its own short film. Just the same, issue #1 of the comic book was also scripted and started but never finished.
The opening crash scene was originally intended to have burning debris with black smoke. Even though the sequence was shot in an eight foot deep snowdrift away from the trees, the U.S. Forest Service would not allow such pyrotechnics. Petroleum-based black smoke machines were also not permitted. So the crew finally decided to use high-powered white fog machines. That, too, failed because the battery blocks did not have enough amperage to run the machines.
All of Allison's gun effects were added digitally in post-production. While filming on-location where the gunfire was permitted, the hammer mechanisms in the Old West-style Remington revolvers were not hitting the bullet pins hard enough to ignite the blank rounds. The actress, Amanda Decker, therefore had to mimic firing gunshots while the smoke effects where added in post.
Was originally titled "Afterworld", but another sci-fi web series took the name before its release.
