1975. Donatella and Rosaria accept a date with two well-to-do Roman guys, but it turns into a nightmare. Donatella survives, but her life will never be the same. Teresa, a women's rights lawyer, has found the case she was looking for.
Teresa convinces Donatella to let her represent her. The trial makes national headlines, and Saverio gets the scoop he always needed. The women prepare to go to trial, but it's hard for Donatella to return to normal life.
The trial begins in Latina, with women from the feminist movement also present. Donatella faces intense courtroom and media pressure, as defense lawyers try every underhanded trick to get the case thrown out.
Donatella must testify at the Circeo villa, which proves terribly distressing. Teresa confides in Saverio, and the feminists welcome Donatella into their group. The day of the sentencing is near, but the charges might still be dismissed.
After sentencing, Donatella tries to rebuild her life, but for many she remains "that girl from Circeo". Teresa decides to work with Tina Lagostena Bassi, and they try to show on national television what a rape trial is really like.
Five years later comes the appeal. Donatella and Teresa must muster all their forces to stop the sentence from being overturned, but the time gap works against them, and their opponents are more ruthless than ever.
