This movie is not going to suprise you with major twists and turns like the Drishyam series but keeps you engaged the entire length of the movie. The stories are simple and well acted.
The main protagonist is a young cop investigating a girl's murder. He faces stiff resistance from locals when he tries to investigate a local monastery for the case. Things get more difficult when the senior officers in his own area sideline him from the case and want to close the case for political reasons. When an innocent man is forcibly framed, the dead girl's father appeals to him to find the real killer. So he starts the unofficial investigation and succeeds in finding the real killer(with support from a top police head). But tragic events out of his control lead to the suspension of his entire team.
The team is given a lifeline after some months by the police chief to investigate a 6-year old cold case. The whole village is in mutiny over a reinvestigation but the team still succeeds in identifying the killer.
The locations are very good. As for actors, Tovino Thomas has the maximum screen time with rest of the cast getting barely 20%. Since the film hints of a sequel, hope they give more scope to the other actors as well in the next movie.
Overall decent one-time watch.

A nice investigation film where they decided to not follow a lot of narrative cliches and tropes seen in this type of Malayalam film but follow that of the English episodic investigation series' like CSI. But they also made sure that it is very rooted and realistic with the 90s production design on point without making the audience pay too much attention to that. Technically this is very well made in all the departments. The choice of making it two cases for the two halves was a brave one but it seemed to have also worked. But the way so many recent films have been using this same kind of theme for crime is getting irritating for me. That's where the Ozler movie kind of subverted expectations at a certain point and made me glad even if it didn't really do anything great. Here, a lot of choices about character motivations, their hurdles and the image they were creating for them was very much like how something like CSI would do but without actually copying anything from there. That in itself had its positives and negatives but that was also kind of irritating for me at certain points. But among recent police movies where a team of them investigates this was pretty good and better than something like Kannur Squad.
The film ' Anweshippin Kandethum ' directed by the debutant Darwin Kuriakose starring Tovino Thomas is an engaging and gripping investigation thriller film. The film doesn't have much commercial elements or any unnecessary sub plots , it's just straight investigation and keeps the story moving forward. I loved how they set up the first half story and then an even better second half story which was thrilling to say the least. The film had great performances from the cast and Tovino shined in this film. The background score by Santosh Narayanan was brillaint , perfectly creating that mystical vibe. I loved the second half more and the climax was really good. Also the cinematography was top aswell. The film is good and is entertaining till the end. Good watch.
The film is a good watch, it keeps you hooked throughout. Narayanan's music does justice with the film and keeps you on the edge. I loved Darwin's style and of course the actors played their part well. Kudos to the story writer for not being inspired by Bollywood and unnecessarily inserting romance in such brilliant film. The shift from the prime suspect to the actual culprit as an audience could've been anticipated in the second case but for the first one it was not on the list. So if you want to watch something different I think this might be perfect for a casual watch. I came with no expectations and loved it absolutely.
Well narrated 2 episodes of
crime patrol.it is a new experiment on bringing OTT series on cinema theatres.it could have been better than web series. All actors played their role very well with little scope for performance. It was a pure directorial brilliance on how to illustrate a novel book
on theatres .it is a clear procedural police investigation , but there has been many better movies directed by K G George . But this still remains a great attempt on this genre . It is definitely a beginning of a new chapter on Malayalam cinema to bring web series experience to theatres. As usual the movie is very realistic like any other Malayalam movie.
