The Call

Not sure why this film took so long to make. It's not particularly good in the traditional sense and just felt like Matt Shaw was putting out his sexual fetish desires on screen for the world to see. It's just a boring film which is sad because it's meant to be some sort of horror or thriller but really I couldn't make tell of what this was. The main girl wasn't too bad but either than that it was a standard student looking film. Not much skill set was provided for this film and I'm not looking forward to anymore Matt Shaw films. Just boring for what it was trying to do. Sorry Matt and team! Maybe next time!

Knowing all that went on behind the scenes with this film, I think the end product isn't too bad. There are some nice ideas in there and I liked the slow burn feel of it. Not sure about the acting in places from all parties and found myself turning the volume down a couple of times before the whining was getting annoying. I can't help but think what would happen if the same film was made with a bigger budget though. Also found the end to be quite abrupt after all the build up but again there were some nice ideas there.

Of all the films of Matt's I have backed so far I still think Box is my favourite and then Chained and Monster and Next Door.
