Originally a half hour show, it was eventually expanded to fill a full hour block.
Segments that have been featured on the show include Top Five, where the hosts argue over their choice of different picks on lists and compile them together into a "master list", interview segments with guests (usually musicians), Stump the Trunk, in which audience members ask Eddie trivia and earn a prize if he misses, the Throwdown, where different subjects (usually with 2 possibilities) are argued, and Whatever Happened To, in which the current status of a long-forgotten musician is discussed.
Multiple episodes are shot simultaneously. This is why certain guests/guest guitarists/guest drummers appear in multiple episodes in a single season.
With the arrival of the latest season (which began airing in June 2013), many old segments were done away with and some new ones introduced (though no word on which ones are permanent yet.) New segments include a book reading/review segment, communicating with guests via Skype, pictures of fans in their TMS shirts, and a number of other smaller sequences, some of which have been one-shots so far.
Originally the show only featured a guest guitarist to play the show into/out of commercial breaks. In more recent seasons this has expanded to include drummers.
