After Silly Billy being released on the Hit Single mod, I got back into this old game. Still love it, but I can see why it died down in the first place.
It originally started out as a Gamejam project, simple as that. When it was released to the public, though, it BLEW UP. The devs then decided to start a kickstarter for the full release of the game, and it blew up too, making over 2 million dollars by the end of its run. The kickstarter promised a full-on game, with 20 weeks (60+ playable songs), new characters, more lore, and other things as well.
Sadly, this never truly happened.
The game was released with a tutorial plus a few weeks, with another being added later on. After this, though, the game wasn't updated for a LONG while. Not until 2024, when the Encore update was released with new UI and a new playable "Week-End". But by this time, the mods that the community had created carried the game and kept it from dying completely.
Now, the original game is fun. Love it. It progressively gets harder each week, and the story is fun and engaging. I didn't like it too much after it got all of its attention 3 years ago, mostly because everyone was talking about it, similar to Among Us. But recently, as I mentioned, I got back into it and replayed the base game. Still as fun as I remember, but the mods are better.
Devs better get on it with those content updates or it's gonna die again.
