For this special "Canadian" episode, Bill styles himself as "Canuck Bill" the Cartoon Curator, wearing a plaid flannel shirt and a toque. The TV sets in the studio show Canadian-inspired graphics like a moose, a red maple leaf symbol (from the Canadian flag), and Canadian-born actor William Shatner. For a time, Toony the Tuna is replaced as sidekick by recurring "somewhat intelligent sock puppet" Sockeye Sam, the sockeye salmon. Dubbed a "Special Canadian Co-Host", Sockeye Sam gets to spend part of the episode in Toony's fish tank, which is filled with maple syrup for the occasion. And replacing Toony's foster mom Goldie Fisher is Sockeye Sam's hockey mom Goalie Fisher ("Goldie Fisher's Canadian Relative").
