A very simple movie but includes a crucial subject . First half depicts the conflict though at some points there could be a lag . But the second half is more fast paced and interesting. Climax was just great and totally unexpected. A one time watch family movie .

Great work from the whole team... The story and direction is nice. The Movie highlights the problems of a normal man who wants to buy a plot for building a house but there are certain problems related to that plot... Each and everyone performed very well in this movie... It also includes very good songs... Overall "watchable MOVIE"...

With a simple plot director was able to successfully pull off a thriller with great acting skills by Unni Mukundan along with rest of the cast. It is apparently inspired by true events and kudos to the casting team for adding some forgotten actors in the movie. Overall a decent watch.

Good movie. Unimukkundan Acting was great. Nice story and good camera. Songs was ok. Won't make you lag. A good movie.

Main highlight of the movie is Unimmukkundan' s character. He played it very well. Not a normal story. Has twist and a good ending.

Excellent story telling in an old fashioned way... Feels a present situation of a common man... Unni Mukundan rocks with his acting... Film also superbly depicts real day to day working of various institution like courts, govt offices etc .... This is a gem not to be missed.... Director Vishnu Mohan deserves full credit...

Meppadiyan without any doubt has been an interesting experience. The surprising factor for me was the mundane topic (real estate) and how it was moulded into a mystery pot boiler has to be applauded. Secondly, this is the first time Unni Mukundan gave a very matured performance, he was into the skin of the character, the gradual emotional progression was very well handled by the actor.

This film could have been the best thriller from Malayalam film industry provided the makers were careful in the first act, it looked like the scene progression from one scene to another were placed without giving any thought. The build up is very slow and when the first conflict appears, then it gets very interesting & intriguing.

The second major flaw was with the climax which lacked clarity and it looked rushed, they would have given more time & space to close the conflict gracefully and the end credits looked out of the way from what was the whole movie all about and that was confusing.

Apart from Unni, Aju & Saiju's character, the ensemble characters lack more depth, and the lack of clarity between Unni and his family or his lover appeared more at a surface level and that could be one of the factor for me to not connect well with the ensemble cast.

Overall the experience was very good, but the film had potential to scale more heights.

It's a fantastic movie. Its a life of a common man.he is facing some critical stages and he is overcoming it..Second half of this movie is must watchable... It's a thrilling part of this movie...

A good movie from Vishnu Mohan and Unni Mukundan.

Movie shows the trials and tribulations of an ordinary person trying to do the right thing - and how various characters such as your typical politician, the local registrar official and others take him for a ride. Very realistically made. Anyone should be able to empathize with the protagonist.

Confusing ending though takes away the charm of the fine work done earlier.

This is one of the best thriller Malayalam movie of recent time. Unni has improved a lot as an actor. The director was successful in communicating what he wanted and engaged the viewers till end.

Classic example of how the elephant's tail got stuck.. Like finding a hair in your food at the end of a sumptuous meal.. The ending just didn't make the cut. To give credit where it's due, Outstanding performances by the cast and an interesting narrative .. And my non malayali friends who watched this movie couldn't stop gushing about Unni Mukundan's looks and deadly screen presence. I'm seriously contemplating growing my hair and beard and switching to a white mundu..7/10.

Meppadiyan 2022 is one of the best emotional and Revenge movies ever happened in Malayalam industry. The movie shows the challenges faced by Jayakrishnanan a common man and the things he tried to survive from that. The real life movie shows the Jayakrishnans in our society and how others misuse them. One of the must match movie with good casting and Appreciation for unni mukundan for such a great acting.

Meppadiyan had a solid and original storyline armed with good cinematography; it was quite unfortunate that the storytelling didn't carry us along

DELICIOUS

-Right from the very first scene, you can't miss the exquisite attention to detail by Neil D'Cunha😍 He was calling us to observe what the camera was showing as it, later on, served a purpose

-The film was a good portrayal of the difficulties that the common man faces just to acquire land and the ending was creative and unexpected.

You'll leave the movie learning about tips and tricks of land acquisition

BLAND

-the movie began on a very slooow note. There were many unnecessary scenes that didn't add much to the story.

Apart from Jayakrishnan's struggle to collect the money to pay for the property, there was nothing else the story offered us

-Acting was simple, not memorable. Unni's performance was the same as his previous roles, not challenging enough

-The soundtrack fell out of place; though the artist's voice was beautiful and refined, it didn't flow with the scenes. It was a bit distracting

-There is no way you can leave Meppadiyan without noticing that Unni produced the movie; his UMF banner was in our faces and his omnipresence was a bit overwhelming😫

It's a well shot movie focusing on a common man's struggle when he is faced with crony politics as the hurdle of leading a simple life. A reality in India, a country which is still plagued by the issues which is beautifully highlighted in the movie.

A controversy has been made surrounding the fact that they used an ambulance which is owned by the RSS, a Hindu nationalist social service organization known as Seva Bharati. And the fact that the villain is surprisingly Muslim and hero a Hindu. Why would that be right? Muslims are just all encompassing good hearted beings:))

Besides all of this nonsense from the left and far right Islamic fronts, the movie is a must watch for family theme film lovers. Don't fall for the myth that this is propagandist.

The Great Indian Kitchen normalising beef and Minnal Murali will also be propagandist if we apply their bigoted logic.

Movie is not based on complicated story line or time loop concepts like some recent films.

This is a simple Story of a common man who faces a lot of acid test when he tries to make it big. Songs are excellent I should say. Unni has improved a lot but still needs to perfect his dialogue delivery and sentimental scenes. Aju vargese and Saiju kurupp was really good throughout the show.

Some people are trying to paint communal colours for their political gains. Don't fall into it. This film doesn't potray anything as such. Do watch it with your family.

Very Good script and direction by Vishnu.

A complete family movie. A keralite common man's story. Unnimukundan acted well. This movie will help Unni to turn natural acting.

This is a realistic movie, all actors in this movie performed well ,if jayakrishnan were retained his old house would be a more happy ending , and his wedding ceremoney were there insted of house warming , any way very nice movie.

Loved the movie, i was reluctant to watch it thinking it would be the typical political movie, but i was wrong, the movies keeps you engaged till the end. After a long time, watched a good malayalam movie in theaters that can be enjoyed with whole family. Kudos to writer-director Vishnu Mohan for proving that good thrillers can be made without over the top action scenes and punch dialogues.

The plot revolves around Jayakrishnan, a mechanic from a small village, how he is caught in the middle of a land deal, and the struggles to sort out alll problems. The positives are excellent script, awesome direction and fantastic performances by all actors. I particularly liked Saiju Kurup and Sreejith Ravi's acting. Heroine doesn't have much to do but delivered a convincing performance.

Coming to the music department, songs are not super catchy but fits well with the situation. Climax background score was good.

This is a movie every common man can relate to in kerala. Outstanding performance by unni, indrance and anju. Wonderful script and simplicity in execution are the key factors that makes this movie a great experience. For anyone who lived in kerala village in a middle class family can relate themselves to the character of jayakrishnan and his everyday life struggles. The frames of this movie are outstanding too. Especially how the mornings are shown in the movie the visual gives the same fresh vibes as that of a village morning in rural kerala.
