Poor direction, okay acting, poor dialogues. Somehow I managed to watched the 1st episode in hope that it's just the plot building and it would get better later. But, 2nd episode is super slow as well. I guess the director needs to understand the difference between tv serial and season. The director got lost between between romance and war. It's not worth spending 6-7 hours to watch it. Sorry!!

The strongest side of this series is the script. In this series based on the true incident, on one hand, the glimpse of the private life of the soldiers is shown.
The human side is shown. At the same time, India-China has shown fierce war on the other side. Director Mahesh Manjrekar and writer Charudatta Aacharya have been successful in maintaining interest by connecting the episode.
The screenplay of Charudatta Acharya is mainly divided into India-China skirmishes, political compulsions, and the personal life of the soldiers.
The narration uses the narration of Major Suraj Singh's wife Shagun Singh (Mahi Gill), who tells her Millennial grandchildren and grandchildren about the story of the war and the turmoil in the personal life of C-Company jawans Is telling about.
The early episodes of 1962 The War In The Hills have a slow edge and pace, but the last four episodes pick up the rhythm and the series starts engaging.
Had the series been made in fewer episodes, the result would have been more impressive, as the personal life events of the jawans are very filmy and taut. They slow down the pace of 1962 The War In The Hills series.
Starcast and language make the series a bit weak. If you like war drama 1962- The War in the Hills will not disappoint you.

If u are an army fan u will be disappointed to the core. The director lost an opportunity to make a great series. Battle of rezang-la is an event which could have easily been made on the lines of Band of Brothers, could have tried at least. Secondly, not using original names and character again keeps it away from being realistic.
And at last Indian industries' forever love for involving unnecessary drama in every war series is beyond explanation. A war movie must include war emotions of a soldier which makes it realsitic and engaging.

This is pure brilliance because of the fact that it has shown the personal side of a soldier's life, not just the war and action. A soldier fights 2 battles - on the field and off the field. Don't look only for action and battle story but be ready to behold how they balance their lives and work.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Watch it with heart not only the brains and only for action. Abhay Deol's and Pooja Sawant's portrayal was pure elegance. Did good justice to the 1962 war, though some facts and situations have been altered and the biases are clearly visible.
Overall - while you watch it, keep your expectations on the side of your couch and watch the people as they are - flawed, imperfect like you and me yet full of patriotism, sacrifice, bravery and warrior spirit!

Watched 4 episodeits getting better, I think I can finish this. I have a question !! Do military had ak-47 assault rifles in 1962?
The title suggests that this is a mini series based on 1962 war, hence one would expect that to be the central plot . Unfortunately this show delves too much into the personal lives of the soldiers thereby making this show extremely tedious and boring.
For me the main highlight is the story line and nice acting skills of all character from major suraj singh to kishan -radha .. everyone portrayed their character with the decency and the act according to their ages .. somewhere felt disappointed about the VFX and some where the bullet and train can be arranged .. .. but the songs were well enough to portray the pain and emotions behind the act and are well sung by the song artist .. a big clap to the music sections ... And the strategy part in the war were completely new and were amazing and mind blowing ...
Story is amazingly captured but due to some lacking don't need to loose this great historical moments to salute.

This is an amazing series. Brilliant job done by all the actors. Haters should get their facts checked before commenting negatively. This series has tried it's best to stick to the facts. If you read the interview of Ramchander Yadav and Nihal Singh, you will realize that this series has done justice to the actual war that happened in 1962.

I was expecting a good war series but director just turned into a total disaster by making a love story instead a war so just don't waste your time on it.

They say that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Well, you certainly can judge it after its first chapter.
After watching just 20 odd mins of 1962: The war in the hills (a series I have been eagerly waiting for), i can say with a lot of conviction, its one of the worst series ever made. It's a blot and absolute disgrace on the great battle of Rezang La.
They don't want to use real names, give a disclaimer that Chinese will be speaking Hindi for ease of understanding (Rip realism & sub titles), don't even bother about the accent of Ahirs of Rewari, have a terrible cast, unrealistic stupid scenes(including a young Indira Gandhi sitting in the war-room while the generals are explainingthe situation to Nehru, Abhay Deol infiltrating a Chinese camp disguised as a Ladakhi milk delivering girl's brother 🤣); resulting in an insufferable B-grade melodramatic soap opera rather than a war epic.
The makers should be ashamed of themselves. The story of the most epic last man stand deserved to be told in a better way! At least Kesari/Uri standards or maybe Jeet ki Zidd standards (since it's a web series).
If someone has the courage to watch the entire series, do share your review. I have no doubt though that it will only get worse.
Minus 1 out of 5.

The beginning and ending is very nice but the middle part was not that much engaging. Showing so much of the love triangle was unnecessary. better make it of 4 to 5 episodes and keep most of the war portion.

They made the series like a daily soap. Didn't bother about any details. Army going for war without combat dress, no local accent for soldiers, for Chinese they gave a disclaimer itself about them speaking Hindi. Seems no relation to what actually may have happened actually. Disappointed.

Mahesh Majrekar tried well but it couldn't seem as expectated. There wouldn't be too much drama in such web series.I am a big fan of mahesh majrekar, but this time he disappointed me
What a dissapointment this show is. It fails in all departments. Seems this was made to capitalize on the anti china sentiment.
Poor story line, poor production quality.
Example: The team is shown to be all Haryanvi from Rewari. But the whole village looks and feels like a village in Konkan. Mahesh Dada, atleast you should have gone to Marathwada and shot there to produce a familiar feel like Rewari. The extras have Marathi accent while the story says that this village is supposed to be in East Punjab, now Haryana. The production and director thinks that the audience is stupid.
If you are going to make a period drama, please give some respect to the original plot. You cant show a Marathi looking, Marathi dressed crowd to show north india.
Even the Fighting scenes are horribly created. The background is Himalaya but the hills look like that of Belapur. There is a clear difference in the hills of Ladakh and what's shown in the show. How is there so much grass on the hills?
But the biggest factor is the over melodramatic screenplay and shoddy acting. Not sure if the actors are to be blamed, I think the director clearly wanted this made in the least amount of time and effort. And that shows. Couldn't get through beyond the 2nd episode.

10 minutes into the show and I could see the poor quality of acting and direction, I went in for another 15 minutes hoping to be wrong and witness an epic war drama but as it happens to be I am wrong. It's not poor, it's The Worst there can be and not just limited to acting or direction it's also dialogues, sets, action sequences, cinematography, you just name it. There is literally nothing good about the series to drag myself to watch another episode let alone be 9 more.
A huge disappointment to witness such a blunder series made on a great war story in the history of India and the sacrifices of the brave soldiers.
