Especially emotional and I think the lighting was very well achieved in the animation work.

Us Again is a beautiful and lively animated short film that will surely have you up and dancing! The choreography of the animated characters, the intricate details, and the underlying message all combine to make this a lovely watch.
The seven-minute short film follows an elderly man and his young-at-heart wife living in a vibrant metropolis with echoes of New York City. The man is ever-tired and only wants to sit on his lounge chair reading the newspaper, while his wife yearns to explore the world outside. One rainy, magical evening, their ages truly seem just a number, and the couple re-discover their passion for dancing, salsaing their way across a landscape of memories. It's a beautiful story told through rhythm and movement.
The animation in Us Again is truly stunning; the design taps into emotions, encapsulating the excitement and hubbub of a huge city, with neon lights, beautiful textural details on the water, and even on the tiny black umbrellas people carry walking down the street. Us Again shows us Disney's future; extreme detail in animation. The two main characters of this short also have lots of expressive features, and you can tell that Disney's animation technology has gone to the next level when light details like crow's feet are added in. Even their dance steps convey emotion! Speaking of the dancing, acclaimed choreographers/dancers Keone and Mari Madrid were crucial to the process of creating Us Again because they came up with all of the dance steps, which flow so smoothly and naturally in animated form. There are no jerky movements at all, and it's as if you're watching an animated version of Dancing With The Stars. The background score (though it really does push its way to the foreground) also adds so much to this short. Something I noticed in the seven-minute film: Keep an eye on the puddles, because the characters' reflections show the characters as their older selves throughout the film, even in scenes where the characters traverse through memories from ages ago. This demonstrates the incredible attention to detail in Us Again.
The message of Us Again is to never let go of your passions (and your youth), and, if you do, be sure to make an effort to rekindle the fire in your heart. It's an apt message for a time like the one we're living in now, when we have the time to follow our passions and pursue new hobbies.
I give Us Again 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 18, plus adults. Us Again will be shown before Disney's latest film, Raya and the Last Dragon, only in theatres, and it will be available on Disney+ in June of 2021. Reviewed by Eshaan M., KIDS FIRST!

I'm in awe on how the creators of this short can cause you to feel strong emotions in such a short period of time truly a masterclass in short film making.

I cried a little bit during this short film because it was really cute and I'm sure not a lot of 13 year olds cry during short film.

Simply beautiful. Not much more I can say. I was moved & had tears in my eyes. It is truly beautiful. I loved it.
'Us Again (2021)' is essentially a musical without any singing which tells the story of an old man whose reluctance to move with the beat puts a strain on his relationship with his wife. That all changes when a strange rain seems to wash away his wrinkles (and his inhibitions), transforming him back into the playful dancer he was in his youth. The short manages to convey its story and emotion entirely with its choreography, which is enhanced by beautiful lighting and generally gorgeous rendering. It has a relatable theme and it conveys it well, aiming for that Pixar-like emotional punch. While it doesn't quite hit as hard as it perhaps could have, it works well enough and feels satisfying. It is a tad repetitive in its midsection and it's only ever so gripping, but it's typically enjoyable and energetic. It's worth a watch. 6/10.

Was it cute? Yea, were the animations great? Also yea, but apart from that, it has pretty much nothing more going for it. It wasn't bad, but wasn't really anything spectacular either.

It's a nice little short but there is not really anything special about it. I didn't really like the 3D models for the main characters since they just looked a bit bland, especially when you compare it to the characters in Pixar's shorts. It isn't a must see but it's really cozy and just 6 minutes long so it's not like you are wasting several hours of your life watching it. I was going to rate it 6/10 but then I noticed that the male main character flossed in one of the pictures showed at the end credits which brought it down a point for me since I don't like the Backpack Kid or Fortnite.

What a heartwarming and motivational story. It really hits you right in the feels and the animation is incredible. I absolutely love the music and the dancing. From the beginning it draws you in and has you wanting to dance along. This short reminds us to appreciate life and have fun, no matter what age you are. I highly recommend watching this. You won't be disappointed.
This short film is enough to take you on an emotional rollercoaster. Just brilliant.

Us Again is an amazing Disney short! I loved it! Different from all of their other shorts in that it's solely telling a story through dance, which I love and was able to connect with. Everyone who worked on this did an amazing job.

I don't understand all the hype about this short.
It's just old people dancing in the rain. I don't hate it, I just don't understand it.
