I love how though the main character is a child the message reaches people of all ages. The power of choice, perspective, family, friendship, kindness, believing in yourself. This film has so many takeaways and the story line is a journey within itself. The camera work, sound and effects were great. What was most interesting to me is the backstory. The film started out as a short project but grew to a feature length film! The actors did great work! Lots of talent and even a few laughs. The ending was definitely not what I would have guessed! I thoroughly enjoyed and I think you all will as well!
I enjoyed this film because it has a different perspective to look into family relationships and following it's action, you can get a new vision, useful in daily life.
Movies fall in different categories and we cannot say "This movie is better than the other" but is more useful to look at the message itself, promoted by every film.
Every movie is based on an initial ideea. This one has an educational and motivational purpose and it's not an "action style IronMan type action packed " film, but falls into more of educational and motivational stylle, inspired by real life.
However it does have its own good rhythm, suspense and it triggers Curiosity and Imagination at a better level than say "Guardians of the Galaxy", because here tgere is a family story and this is closer to real life, rather than some fake colored animals with wings and superpowers, that they eventually save the Earth. Lol.
The Box in The Basement is addressing intellectuals - that are able to understand psychology and also human relationships- also to everyone that understands this human relationships.
I strongly believe that a good film has a good ideea as its base, a realistic storyline, rather than just a simple action with colored fakebirds that can speak English.
Congratulations to the crew that made this film possible, for their efforts that they obviously put in it!
Is obvious that Mike Fox , the creator of this film, is a passionate and skilled person that he orchestrated its production out of his personal life experience and he wanted to bring to life a story with Meanings.
Making of a film at this level its a huge effort, impossible for many of us, especially when you are trying to bring to attention real life experiences and valuable ideeas.
I believe there is a reason for why The Box in The Basement has already won many Film Awards.

Not to be mean but like this movie sucked in every way. The scenes, the acting, the story plot.... It's something a beginner movie club can put together and I'm mad I wasted 30 minutes watching it thinking it was legit.
This is definitely a family movie with a good dialogue, and its clean. I see myself in Avery, when I was young, different, not always fitting in, and dealing with abuse doesn't help, BUT we are not all meant to fit in with the crowds, I have found in life, that those that are different & unique they are warriors, and fighters, on the inside, it just takes a little time for the warriors to arise in them. We find ourselves having to make tough choices and sacrifices in life daily, as Avery did, making the right choices, will aid in achieving Greatness as I trust Avery will make the right choice! I recommend this movie for young, and old. Job well done!!
It's like a group of high schoolers watched Neil Breen's 5 Feature Film Retrospective, and were inspired to make a movie of their own. Awesome! Wasn't "Twisted Pair" fun too?
