alfiefamily, are you aware that you fell asleep after only 15 minutes?

Georgia is a hidden gem when it comes to film. What I like is that each one has their own identity rather being a national collective narrative.

Sure, this isn't the best Georgian film (which is "Namme" by Zaza Khalvashi in my opinion) but it has a quite intriguing narrative style (like breaking the 4th wall instructing the audience of how to watch the film) for a love story. And the slow pace is perfect, it's like an ode to Tbilisi.

And for alfiefamily, the curse was spelled 15 minutes in, told by the narrator. That must be a record to fall asleep so fast during a cinema screening.

a magical reminder of simplicity and love

Composed as a fairy tale and happening in our times in Georgia from Eastern Europe, though not the real Georgia, but an imagined one, where people are benevolent, and dogs are important characters, and all that happens is contemplation of time, love and simplicity. And with the sadness of quiet awareness of the deterioration of environment and political landscapes. A beautiful music score and a good reminder of what art could be when is not in the capitalist discourse.

A magical movie that I will come back to, again and again. After watching the interview of the director I could see that the movie is a mirror of his very kind soul.

The magic and fairytale of cinema

This was absolutely one of the best movies I saw this year. I know the town and I fell in love with it anew. All the beautiful shots, people and dogs are harmoniously whirling around in the sunny streets of the city. This is a true cinema where you are part of the experience, and music helps to elevate the feeling.

Great Movie if you understand the concept

I write this review due to the fact that I noticed that the vast majority of existing reviews is misleading.

The movie was great but in case you grasp the concept.

The movie's point is to show you an extraordinary fairytale inside the heart of the city while there are thousands of other stories happening at the same time. And these stories matter in the perspective of director.

The director successfully builds the big picture of our civilization where terrible things happen around us but we simply don't observe them. It is like everyone lives in his own micro-world without caring about others.

It is pretty normal for a lot of people to not like it as they are used to Hollywood movies .

    What Happened at the End?

Sorry, I was so tired of this film after nearly 2 1/2 hours, that I left before it was over. While leaving the theatre, my companion said, " This is absolutely the worst film I've seen in the nearly 30 years that I've been coming to the NY Film Festival."

This was not a good film. It talked about a curse being put upon the leads, but it doesn't say when, or if the curse had been lifted. Or maybe that was during the part that I slept thru.

I knew I was in trouble when, after my second "nap" I woke up to see on the screen "End of Part I".

It seems that the director had a love for the town that the story is set in, as well as the people in the town. But that's not enough to hold my interest.

This was boring and a waste of time.
