Tired Formula in Gibberish
The original title card of this movie reads something like "Nøken Tisdøg" (the spelling of a few characters had to be omitted because IMDb do not accept them), which means "Nude Tuesday" in "Zobftanlik," a form of gibberish invented specifically for the film. "Nude Tuesday" is one of the rare films that uses an entirely fictional language for all its runtime. The title "Nûde Tuesdäy" (here I had to make another omission) is an English adaptation of the original, following the Zobftanlik resource of writing vowels and consonants according to different spellings in other languages.
This said, there is not much originality in this movie about a mature couple that goes to a retreat with a group of persons who want to add some "fire" to their sexual lives. I did not find it very funny, rather a bit boring, with tired situations you may have already seen in better films.

Gibberish at its best
Very enjoyable romp into the unspoken area of sexual therapy but avoids explicit sexual activity, stereotypical gurus and subtitles. I giggled all the way through it. A delightful slice of escapism.
Not good Not bad
The beginning of this movie is most unsettling as it goes from opening credits to strange and unfamiliar names and places. All of a sudden, we're in some quasi-Nordic space that makes no sense. Then it dawns that this is a manufactured language. But we keep in touch with the real world through right hand drive cars, well known music with gibberish lyrics and semi familiar landscapes and road signs. The main characters are ill matched as husband and wife and their occupations and workplace situations are equally bizarre. The rest of the film is fairy floss so I can't give a spoiler. But I can suggest that this could have been a hilarious comedy had it been in English. There are enough comedic situations that could have made this a continual laugh fest. As it stands, definitely couldn't sit through this again.
couples retreat
From new zealand. An experimental film, about an experiment by a married couple, to try to get some zing back into their marriage. They are getting on each other's nerves, and having troubles at their jobs, so they head off to a "couples retreat". Jackie van beek is laura, the lead, as well as the writer. But when they get to the retreat, there are big surprises in store for them. It's not quite the couple's counseling they were expecting! And the group leader gives much more personal attention than they expect. As you'll hear, everyone speaks a made up language, so you really have to read the subtitles to know what's going on. And they redo several familiar tracks in the gibberish language that they sing. Bruno and laura have very different weeks! But will it help their marriage in the long run? Can they agree on anything? It's fun, in a weird, wacky way. Yup, nudity, as promised. On tuesday. Directed by armagan ballantyne, who has won several film fest awards for various works.
Amusing and heart-warming
NUDE TUESDAY is an amusing and heart-warming film about a suburban couple's journey to reconnect at a new-age retreat. Although the path is often embarrassing and difficult, the couple finds themselves and each other again. The performances by the entire cast are courageous given they spend most of their time naked on screen. The film's nudity is not erotic but contributes to the characters' vulnerability, which makes the characters even more relatable and touching.
NUDE TUESDAY is not a great movie but it's a fun one. It's the kind of movie that you watch with your partner and laugh at all the awkward moments. And while the film is light-hearted, it does deal with some serious themes like marriage, fidelity, and communication. Ultimately, NUDE TUESDAY is a feel-good movie about love and acceptance. So, if you're looking for a fun and quirky film to watch with your significant other, then I recommend NUDE TUESDAY.
