Chris Williams and James Lewis in Red State (2005)

Trivia

Red State

Edit
The film was shot in under 16 total hours, over a three day period. Four hours of footage was recorded on mini-DV tape.
Wren's dialogue to Cal in the car where he says it's his "density" is a misnomer of the word destiny, and is a reference to Back to the Future (1985) where George McFly (Crispin Glover) tells Caroline ('Lea Thompson') that she's his "density."
Cal references Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) when he tells Wren not to "go to the dark side."
The radio broadcasts in the opening scenes of Cal driving feature a DJ referencing the apocalyptic song "World's On Fire", along with two imaginary bands, Three Magic Beans with "Come Buy A Cow" and Tran with "Resurrection."
The radio preacher who says "...biting and devouring each other, watch out! Or you will be destroyed by each other" is a reference to Dr. James Dobson.
