Forgot one minor detail this actor looks nothing like iron Mike ! Lol Only watch one episode it seems all right. Nothing to lose sleep over. I heard Mike Tyson was pissed off about it. That's why I had to watch it. Talks like him acts like him walks like him does not look like him whatsoever you think Hulu with a cat somebody who looks like Mike Tyson.//////////:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::;344444444444444444444444;;;;;;;;;;;;;$$)$$$$$'nnmmmmmmjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjhhhhhhhggggggggggggggggggggggyhhhjjjhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhbnbbbbbbbbbb.
The first five minutes in I was thinking I may just turn it off and browse for another hour on what to watch next. The reason I felt this way is because the lead character didn't look like Tyson to me.....but let me tell you, he grows on you. His acting is really solid and he's built like Mike, which is not an easy task to have that physical stature. The way it's filmed, the acting, the music, the length of the episodes, are all great. I think they did a stand up job with this mini series. When each episode ended, I found myself looking forward to the next one, and the next one, until we reach the final round. Give it a shot.
I'm shocked by the terrible ratings and suspect half the people haven't even watched the show. The main actor does an excellent job of capturing the essence of Tyson and the first few episodes are pretty entertaining. My biggest knock on most biopics is how they allow the subject to influence the story which ultimately robs the movie/show of any authenticity. I love Mike Tyson and find him to be a compelling story teller, but allowing him to choose what goes in or out of this show would have been a mistake. If you're looking for garbage like that check out Bohemian Rhapsody, Ali, or Straight Out of Compton.
I understand how lots of people might give it a low score because Mike Tyson doesn't approve of the show, but the show itself is really good and very deep. I wish Mike had more to do with the production but if it were me I wouldn't want this show to air either, but it's a good show. Whether it's all the true or not only mike Tyson knows, and I'm not gonna take another persons telling of someone's life to heart, but all I know is, it's a good show. The rape scene is where I assume he wouldn't definitely not approve of and honestly at this point I'm just typing words cause I guess you need to write 600 characters in order to make a review but I said what I said, I'm making an unbiased review, it's a good show, well acted, well written, and that's it. Whether it's all true or not I'm not sure, and I love mike Tyson but I have my own life and I watch this show for entertainment that's it. It's entertaining and well put together, no matter the way the show goes my view on Mike Tyson isn't going to change. He's still one of the best heavyweight boxing champions of all time and even after watching this show and feeling like I know him more, I don't, so my opinion won't change.
I'm not sure why they didn't involve Mike Tyson in this. Tyson seems disappointed that they didn't listen to him. I really wonder what they did to upset him. It looks like he's mad that they ripped off most of what he said during his undisputed stand up talk. So in a way Mike should get writing credits, which I agree he should. This would make the most sense.
This show is really good, the main actor did a great job portraying him. It's shot incredibly well and the script is solid. Playing Mike can go very wrong, and they surprisingly pulled it off so far.
If I'm rating the show it's a 10, but the fact that Mike didn't sign off on it rubs me the wrong way.
