Ron, a not-so-successful car salesman is the sole breadwinner for his family. Financial pressure makes him desperate. A friend takes advantage of his desperation and cheats on him, leading Ron to a financial crisis that he cannot come out of. His wife Celeste leaves him.

Hector is a Mechanic in a body shop. Loves Selena. She likes him too but cannot make up her mind because of a previous bad relationship.

Sophia is going with Omar, her boyfriend a Muslim American. Sophia's mother has difficulty accepting Omar into the family.

ANTONIO is a happy Hispanic American man and is the head of his lower-middle-class family. Anna is the daughter of Antonio and Camilla.

Selena is a hard-working waitress in a restaurant. And her mother Maria is in the 4th stage of lung Cancer, and Selena is the only family member/caretaker.

Pablo is Antonio's co-worker. Secondary character.

Darius is an American teenager. Julio is his friend. Darius is going down the wrong path in life selling drugs etc. His father is already in prison, and the last thing Gloria, his mother always worries constantly about Darius.

Brad is a co-worker in Ron's company (Secondary character). Brad is the one who swindles Ron.

Ron is a lonely man. His wife is not accepting him into the family. Throughout the film, he recalls his past via flashback. In his past, he was struggling financially, not doing well at his salesman job. Brad takes advantage of Ron's desperation and tricks him into Signing a phony business deal, Ron loses his home and everything he loves and cherishes. He suffers a mental and emotional breakdown and develops severe and chronic panic attacks. Selena, the previous boyfriend was tragically killed, so she is scared to love Hector, though she does strong feelings for him. With his persistent and pure attempts, Hector almost gains Selena's acceptance. Antonio is a model citizen, living in the American dream. Antonio is hardworking, a great father to his little girl Anna, and a loving husband to his wife Camila. Darius's life takes a tragic turn, as he gets deeper into gang life. Despite Lauren's efforts to discourage Sophia from seeing Omar, she eventually comes to terms with the relationship and accepts Omar with open arms. All their lives will become intertwined on one fateful day in Los Angeles.
