The pilot is a remake of and shares it's title with the TV movie Brian Conley: Outside Chance (1993), which Time After Time (1993) is a spin-off. The roles are recast, apart from Brian Conley, whom plays Kenny Conway in both the TV movie and the TV show and is the only cast member from the TV movie to return.
