Visions of Violence (2007)

Trivia

Visions of Violence

Edit
Writer/Director Christopher L. Golon gave an interview in 2010 and spoke on the project. He said, "Certainly those who have seen it will tell you it's an odd movie. 'Visions of Violence' is a reality-mockumentary, some is real and some isn't. It's a very weird project that came together in the winter of 2005-2006. It's a video diary that uses many different formats (VHS, Mini DV, Super 8mm film, stills, audio) and it has some great dialogue, some great moments where the characters really get into some strange yet interesting conversations."
The scene in the 1998 section that features Chris and Dave driving towards a party totals only 12 minutes in the final film. The scene was filmed in real time as the 2 drove. It took over 75 minutes to make the drive as the 2 drove in circles (at times) yet the scene was filmed in 1 take and 1 take only. The footage was then cut down to the 12 minutes in the finished film to make the conversation more interesting.
The 'whip-its' that Jeff and Randy are seen doing - are 100% real. This added to the effect of the scene as the 2 then engage in a conversation that is not entirely coherent.
During a recorded phone call, Chris' pleading to Jeff, concerning a girl, was 100% real. This was then placed into the film to help the story.
The cocaine that one character snorts is actually powdered sugar.
