Steve Carell stars in the as-yet-untitled series, which is described as a comedy set on a college campus that follows an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (not yet announced). Dunster’s role is being kept under wraps for now.

Dunster was nominated for the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2023 for his performance on “Ted Lasso.” Up next, Dunster will appear in Season 2 of Apple TV+’s psychological thriller series “Surface.” He’s also appeared in Prime Video’s “The Devil’s Hour” and “Catastrophe,” HBO’s “Catherine the Great,” and the film “Murder on the Orient Express.

Dunster has joined Steve Carell in an HBO comedy series co-created by Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses. The casting will be a reunion for Dunster and Lawrence, who co-created and executive produced Ted Lasso for Apple TV+.

HBO gave the currently untitled show, from Warner Bros. TV, a straight-to-series order in May. The series is set on a college campus and centers on an author’s complicated relationship with his daughter.

Details about the role Dunster will play are being kept quiet for now.

One of them does see the other’s perspective, the stars tell TV Insider in the video interview above. “I think Lucy’s still hanging on to some semblance of, ‘I have a son, I have a life,'” says Raine. “We’ve shot Season 3 now, and Season 2 is a kind of a bridge, I think, from Lucy becoming pretty normal to becoming more like Gideon in Season 1 and focused, potentially looking insane to people, but doesn’t care.

Amazon Prime’s thriller drama series The Devil’s Hour, which gained quite some popularity when it first released in 2022, has now returned with a second season. As the first season had ended on a cliffhanger, with one of the central characters, Isaac, seemingly killed or fatally injured in a house fire, we were finally given answers to what happened to him and the others. The supernatural concept on which the series is established, which states that our lives follow the fictional law of recurrence, still exists and plays an even more important role this time around. Overall, The Devil’s Hour season 2 is a well-made continuation, which leaves us with even more questions in the end than it answers.

Prime Video’s ad-supported reach in the UK is 19 million viewers, Amazon has revealed for the first time.

At a UK Upfront event in London this evening attended by the likes of Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Idris Elba, the company talked up its streaming biz, saying its customer base is equivalent to more than a third of British adults.

In a bid to persuade advertisers their pounds and dollars are being well spent, Amazon said 52% of UK Prime Video viewers did not watch any paid-for TV, and that among these 36% spent more in the Amazon.co.uk store than the average spend of Amazon customers.

Exclusive: Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock could be about to dust off his magnifying glass.

Sue Vertue, who produced the beloved BBC reimagining of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories, has said the brand is likely to return.

“We love that show and there is a future for it. One day. Maybe. If everyone wants to do it,” Vertue told Deadline on the blue carpet at the Amazon Prime Video Trailblazers event in London.

“I’ve still got the set in storage somewhere, which is probably rotten, to be honest with you,” she added. “It’s just getting everybody aligned, it’s getting the actors to want to do it.”

Sherlock co-creator and star Mark Gatiss raised hopes for a film earlier this year, telling Deadline: “We’d like to make a film but trying to get everyone together is very difficult.”

The Bartletts are back on the case. Peacock has announced the Season 2 premiere date for its hit comedy-thriller series “Based on a True Story,” starring Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina. The series follows Ava (Cuoco) and Nathan (Messina), a married couple feeling the weight of life and work amidst endless bills, marriage squabbles, mounting work pressures, and a baby on the way. But their lives get a shake-up when, spurred by Ava’s passion for true crime, she realizes that plumber-turned-family friend Matt (Tom Bateman) is the serial killer behind a string of unsolved murders in L.A. and the pair blackmail him into co-creating a podcast about his “work.”

The Devil's Hour season 2 offers the first look at the return of Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi in the Prime Video supernatural thriller with an almost perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. Created by Tom Moran with fellow Doctor Who alum Peter Moffat as showrunner, the six-episode show debuted in October 2022. It follows a social worker who wakes up every day at 3:33 Am, experiencing strange visions at the so-called devil's hour. It has already been renewed up to a third season, which will be its last.

RadioTimes.com has now unveiled the first photos of The Devil's Hour season 2, ahead of the release of new episodes on October 18.

The images offer a glimpse of The Devil's Hour cast returning to their roles. That includes Capaldi as Gideon, the mysterious criminal that can remember his future. Jessica Raine, meanwhile, plays the central social worker. Nikesh Patel plays Ravi, a detective with a fear of blood.

‘Saltburn’ actor Barry Keoghan, is the latest name to be added to the cast of Netflix’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie.

Plot details and further casting are being kept under lock and key on the orders of the Shelby family.

Cillian Murphy is set to return to his role as Tommy Shelby in the upcoming big-screen outing of ‘Peaky Blinders’ for Netflix.

Rebecca Ferguson was announced as joining the cast back in July.

The epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s, has been written by the show’s creator, Steven Knight, who will co-produce alongside Caryn Mandabach, Cillian Murphy and Guy Heeley. The Devil’s Hour is a bit of a hidden gem. Streaming on Prime Video, the first season of the series aired all the way back in 2022 without much fanfare, but there’s no time like the present to catch up on this supernatural thriller.

The series was quickly renewed for a second and third season and season two is finally upon us. Prime Video has announced that The Devil’s Hour season two will stream on the platform from 18th October.

Here’s a synopsis for the new season: The Devil’s Hour season two sees Lucy (Jessica Raine) and Gideon (Peter Capaldi) forming an uneasy alliance in order to prevent a recurring tragedy and hunt down an elusive monster.

One of the most popular characters from the hit Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso” will have a lesser role in the upcoming fourth season. Philip Dunster, who plays the talented but self-centered soccer star Jamie Tartt, will no longer be a regular cast member. Entertainment reporter Matthew Belloni revealed Dunster may make some guest appearances but his time on screen will be significantly reduced.

This change comes from scheduling conflicts with other acting jobs Dunster has taken. He is committed to the Prime Video thriller “The Devil’s Hour” where he plays Mike Stevens. Dunster also joined the cast of Apple TV’s drama “Surface” in a season two role. With commitments to both shows, he no longer has availability to be a series regular on “Ted Lasso.”

Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo first met onscreen in the poweful, haunting third series of Torchwood: Children Of Earth, which remains one of the most chilling stories ever connected to Doctor Who.

Criminal Record, which premiered on Apple TV+ last year, followed Jumbo and Capaldi as June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty, two police officers who clash violently over their opposing approaches to police work, as an anonymous phone call draws them both into an old murder case.

ITV Studios has acquired a majority stake in Hartswood Films, the award-winning production company behind such hit scripted series as the recent Itvx and ITV1 drama Douglas Is Cancelled, Prime Video’s psychological thriller The Devil’s Hour, and the BBC’s Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

The news was unveiled on Thursday as ITV, led by CEO Carolyn McCall, provided a mid-year financial and operational update.

Based in London and Cardiff, Hartswood Films was founded in 1979 by Beryl Vertue. That makes it the longest-established scripted producer in the U.K., the companies said.

Led by CEO and executive producer Sue Vertue, alongside director of operations Debbie Vertue, managing director Dan Cheesbrough, and creative director and executive producer Steven Moffat, Hartswood Films has a broad slate of drama and comedy series that it has produced for global broadcasters and streamers, including Netflix.

ITV Studios has bought storied British drama label Hartswood Films.

The company described Hartswood as the “longest established scripted producer in the UK.”

Deadline had revealed several months ago that ITV was leading the race to buy Sue Vertue’s outfit, which has made the likes of Sherlock, Dracula and The Devil’s Hour. More recently, it produced Hugh Bonneville-starrer Douglas is Cancelled for ITV. Hartwood was founded in 1979 by Beryl Vertue and is based in London and Cardiff. It was previously majority-owned by her two daughters: Debbie and Sue.

The move is ITV Studios’ first acquisition for several years. The company also owns the likes of Nicola Shindler’s Quay Street Productions, Happy Prince, led by Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Ben Stephenson’s Poison Pen Studios and Tiny World producer Plimsoll Productions.

ITV Studios will handle international distribution of Hartswood’s shows.
