Inspector George Gently is a British crime drama series set in 1960s English and it is loosely based on the Alan Hunter novels. The series follows aging police detective and widower Inspector George Gently (Played by Martin Shaw) and his arrogant young partner DS John Bacchus (Lee Ingleby) as they set out to solve crimes and bring the culprits to justice in the North of England.
