When a girl is told her parents are divorcing, she accidentally casts a spell & turns her parents into toys. Thus begins a game that really took me by surprise. Best played as a multiplayer game, you play as the toy parents, explore a new world in their back yard, & work together to solve puzzles, fight bosses, & break the spell.

The character design, world design, & level design is just so cool. You get different abilities to play around with each level. Everything just seems so clever & innovative & different. I don't want to spoil too much, but please give this a try. Dialogue is genuinely funny, the game is fun, story is heartfelt, & it's one of the most fresh unique experiences in gaming right now. If you are looking for a game to play with your partner (girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, husband...) you won't find anything better than It Takes Two. This is the best game for a couch co-op chill adventure game. I never saw my wife so hyped to play a game before.

The story is great, they could even make a movie about this game. The gameplay is amazing, it's perfect. The graphics are good. The casting and voice (English) are perfect. Buy it, You won't regret it.

Full of freshness and immersion throughout the 15 hours of playtime. Just so spectacular.

I surprised my fiancé with this game for us to play on a Friday night. My fiancé, who never plays video games, absolutely loved this game. Terrific story, great character arcs, amazing graphics, and unique levels. Each area of the game gives you new pieces of equipment / items that will help you complete your mission. It really adds a feeling of freshness each level.

The controls of the game are not too difficult to adapt to. Once again, my fiancé does not play video games, and yet, she picked up the controls fairly quickly. Highly recommend playing this game with a loved one. It just adds to the experience.

And I thought A Way Out was as good as a coop game could get. Truly floored by this masterpiece. Now, instead of just repeating what everyone else as already said about this video game, I'll just mention a few things.

Playing this coop with my friend on his PS5 was some of the best times I've ever had playing a video game. Each level keeps the gameplay different, with so many little mini worlds to discover, like the inside of a vacuum cleaner for example. There's a certain level where you must murder a stuffed animal in cold blood which was so hilarious, but so dark, it was some of the best material I've ever seen in a video game. Honestly, after completion, I'm still in utter shock. This game has really made me look at video games under a new light, and I pray, pray, pray to GOD that the creative people behind this game continue to make couch coops as refined and as engaging as this. A true masterpiece in every meaning of the word.

This game is the best i ever played, and i've played a lot. Graphics, gameplay, dialogs, vibrancy. This game is a masterpiece. Buy it!!

This game is simply amazing.

It is not often that you get to play co-op games as polished as this one. I played it with my partner and we both enjoyed it very much.

The gameplay is varied and exciting, making you interested in what comes next.

The game controls well and is smooth all the way through.

Also the book (Dr. Hakim), and the humor in this game is just perfect and super funny!

This game is just so amazing. It has fantasy, puzzles, parkour, story, emotion and what not. This goes down with some of best of the best games everrrr made. All couples should play this for sure.

The story of this game is ok.

The music are good.

The graphic is lovely.

But the best thing in this game is different levels in game and gameplay.

I love it.

This is a totally different game to anything I have played on PS4 focussing on a couple working together to develop their relationship. Every step of the story requires the players to coordinate to benefit each other. The visuals are beautiful and in places are comparable to the quality of Last of Us 2 and Uncharted. There is so much variety in landscapes and rooms that it is hard to catch your breath.

The mini games are enjoyable without being childish. A unique game that is of equal enjoyment to adults and older children.

I have not been a hard core gamer in the past. I played FPS games like COD, PUBG in the past as starts, but I stopped playing video games up until age of 16 or something. Later on I developed interests in movies, and watched tons of movies over the years. Now after a little tired of Hollywood genres, and after hearing good words about It Takes Two (2021), and also finding a good partner to play this game with, I thought that it would be a good chance to appreciate new 3A games again, from my perspective of half gamer, half movie / story critic. After 22 hrs of playing throughout 1 month, here are my reviews: I can see that from gameplay perspective, this is really good. So many different games, different gizmos. Hazelight's efforts are highly appreciated. I haven't played games in years, my partner is a 22 yo classmate who never played PC or 3A games in her life. The adventure is intriguing, challenging, and not too intimidating for both of us. Kept us playing all the way till the end.

However, from writing and script perspective, I have to say that this is not even close to the mediocre Hollywood stories: too fast of an ending. All the characters and hype that have been introduced and built up through the story aren't addressed at all, and we don't even get to see whether the family will remain together or not. I could speculate COVID plays a vital role, also I should not ignore the great accomplishment of managing such a big gameplay scope, but as a movie lover, and because the finess of the story up until the last bit have really kept my expectations so high for the finale. I couldn't help but feeling unsatisfied after the ending.

Wish that in the future, gameplay and storytelling could be integrated better in another generation of 3A games. For now, I would just have to remain conservative towards game stories' levels. After all, they are games, not movies. The cooperation between partners and fun are more appreciated over mere stories.

It Takes Two is amazing, incredibly artsy and whimsical. My gf and I started this and were blown away by the graphics, the out of the box thinking for scenarios to extend the story line and just the gameplay as a whole. The fact that you LITERALLY can't proceed without your partner is awesome and each of the chapters have their own fair share of tough puzzles. Honestly the worst part is the 'Book of Love' trying to get you guys back together just cause he's extra af.

This game is a must play for everyone! It's got amazing visuals and you'll feel amazing playing it. We need dlc.

Get a second controller out, pop it in your partners hand and put this game on. Whether they like gaming or not, this game is sweet, humbling and has some surprisingly great game mechanics to play all sorts of genres of games.

From a dungeon crawler style, to a crash bandicoot style run away down a mountain, to a simple game of chess. There is something for everyone in this game and the perfect couch co-op to play with your other half.

Oh, and the story is solid! The voice acting and animation is on point and so many loveable characters! It gets a bit dark in a hilarious way at one point that had me and my partner in stitches. Honestly, Give it a go with a partner or friend and just enjoy the wild world of It Takes Two!

This game is amazing! There is even nothing to complain about. Levels design are absolutely top of the top. A very cool solution is with skills or items that help us pass a given level of the game. They are different each time and it is impossible for us to get bored of something. The variety is really big. The pleasure of playing is really great. I was playing with my son and I was really happy to spend time with him having a great adventure in this way. In any case, I recommend playing this game with your significant other. Then the game makes even more sense.

I look forward to the next game from this studio and keep my fingers crossed.

What I love most about this game is the level designs. Me and my wife are always kinda upset that these places seem like they could be real but they're not so it kinda sucks that we can't be there. Very different than anything else I've played and it always has something new to do every level. Keeps you interested for sure.

This game was so fun and so well thought out. If you are looking for a game to play with your partner definitely play this one. Storyline was cute a super funny.

If you're a couple then play this. It's the biggest rollercoaster I've ever seen. Loved it. Everything about it is good. Emotional, fulfilling, fun. It's a masterpiece.

This game made me commit war crimes. 10/10. Genocide, torture, and all within a 12 rated game. Aside from that the story is compelling, and the mini games provide a nice break from the intensity of the rest of the game.

The scene where they kill the elephant was truly disturbing - it felt extremely sadistic. I honestly wouldn't recommend this game to children, and even for adults, that moment was very uncomfortable. To the developers: why include something so cruel? What's the point of this? It was really upsetting to go through.

I felt genuinely sad and heavy after that scene. Watching something so innocent and majestic suffer like that was heartbreaking. I had to pause the game and just sit for a moment - it really affected me emotionally.

Games can be powerful, yes, but this felt like it crossed a line. It wasn't just dark or dramatic - it felt cruel. I kept thinking about it even after I stopped playing. I'm not sure what the goal was, but for me, it left a bitter feeling.

Until ... shrinking does us apart ... or something along those lines. Of course no pun intended as you can imagine. Not having played Brothers yet (though apparently that is a solo game), but way after having played A way out, the same friend I played that with was at hand to help me do this one. He had played it with his wife, but a game like this ... well you can play it more than once.

I didn't check how many awards this won - but they are all deserved and it probably should have gotten even more! This is amazing on every level - and the success (not just rating wise here, but also financially) says it all. I cannot wait for the next thing they are developing at the moment - not much is known. I hope they keep the two can play that game thing going ... or pun if you want to call it that.

Great ideas, great gameplay ... really great graphics (could be better of course, but still lovely to say the least) ... there is so much here ... you couldn't possibly list all of the things that you will fall in love with ... lest we forget: the story is tight! And if you grew up with some of the things the game is pointing out ... well you'll be as happy as one can be ... playing together can be fun - especially with a game like this.

It Takes Two is, in my opinion a truly wonderful game. The co-operative gameplay model is novel, and really makes the gaming experience fun.

It has a touching storyline, with hugely varied methods of gameplay, giving the player a variety of different experiences throughout the story (don't want to give anything away!). The musical score is sublime, attention to detail in graphics is excellent. Had a lovely Christmas playing this with my partner, we truly became addicted!

The writers, programmers and production team for this game should be very proud of what they have achieved, and I look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves!

10/10 - PLAY IT!
