A new genre of indie film about spiritual awakening and our conception of reality

I saw this movie 2 years ago. This deals with spiritual awakening, in a sci-fi style mixing real pictures and special effects. This is not just for entertainment and testifying any abilities mastering special effects, there are messages to catch into the movie, which makes it unique and of particular relevance. It brings reflexion on our existence (who we are and what we are doing here), but also on our inner power and our ability to question our reality. This is for teens and adults, it is inspirational, without shocking horror scenes with blood etc. That's in french language with subtitles in different languages.

I watched interviews of Michel Rousseau on french medias who have shown an interest for his work. He directed this colossal work alone with a total budget of 10.000euros, every nights generating few seconds of digital work during 4 years, which is why it is so atypical (and quite unbelievable!). Musics are also an original work and tailored to each scenes. He literally put all his heart into this movie. Just for this, it really deserves more than 10/10. When I see all these Hollywood movies with their indecent budgets for a nearly blank plot and so much few of them bringing reflexion about anything... Perhaps a new film movement has just been born. Perhaps indie movies will save the art of Cinema !

I am impatient to watch his future film he's working on right now, it is very, very promising!

Vortex is a masterpiece regarding our reality!

Big up to my friend Michel Rousseau, what a tremendous job he has achieved with directing, casting, special effects and production.. his crucial awakening messages regarding the real basis for our reality are inserted all along the film !

Serena's initiation journey, her father's guidance, the description of those beings and entities who are really pulling the strings of this nightmarish scenario we're living through, whereas its veil of illusion is crumbling down more and more, and showing its ugly face around us under this heavy dictatorship, using frequencies and our multidimensional bodies, tampering with our timeline, cloning, what all this energy harvested on our planet is used for... Much disclosure and confirmations indeed in this original masterpiece by Michel, who will have spent his energy countlessly, time and personal funding, in order to make available all this information that can make an impact to change things, and motivate us to become screenwriters for our reality rather than be subjected to it, and get out of this endless loop !!! Let's gain back our sovereignty here and now, throughout all dimensions altogether !

    Masterpiece about awakening

This film deals with the opening of consciousness. The director did a colossal job: script, directing, special effects, music ... I can't believe he did everything on his own. Incredible and original work.

    Imagination let loose

It's a dazzling blend of animation, imagination and an obvious determination by all involved to make a thought provoking sci fi epic.

The design and art direction are front and centre, you will no doubt spot the many influences from myriad sci fi classics as you follow the odyssey of Serena, a young girl surviving in a future of devastation and enslavement. The visuals are testament to the ambition of the director.

The film relies heavily on 3D modelling and digital compositing to blend flesh and blood characters with computer generated backdrops, it's cyberpunk, it's Orwell, it's trippy as hell and I get a sneaking suspicion that we will be seeing more incredible work from this artist.

    interesting work

This is a French semi-amateur, steampunk, alien sci-fi thriller. The special effects are over-the-counter level work. The sci-fi designs and executions are the main drawing card. It's a lot of amateur work but there is definitely somebody behind the camera trying his best. Looking at the credits, this Michel Rousseau is doing basically everything and it looks like it's his first time. It's a lot of interesting work. It's a good bit of highlight reel to get some better future work but this one is not quite there yet.
