AMC Networks has debuted a new extended look at Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches season two as part of an enchanting slate of witchy content, catchup opportunities and more leading into the series’ anticipated return on Sunday, January 5 at 9:00 p.m. Et/Pt.

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches season two, starring Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa and Alyssa Jirrels, will debut on AMC and AMC+, as well as across all of AMC’s linear networks – BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV and WEtv – for a multi-network premiere night event.

The new extended look at the second season, which will also be available on AMC+ on December 22, features never-before-seen clips and exclusive interviews with the cast, as well as a season one recap.

AMC Networks is kicking off 2025 with a January lineup that includes season two of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches and Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale. Planet Earth: Asia, presented by Sir David Attenborough, premieres in late January on BBC America, and horror fans will be treated to Nick Frost’s Get Away debuting on Shudder on January 10th.

Shudder’s January lineup also includes the body horror Grafted and Dark Match, an action horror with Sara Canning and Steven Ogg.

Moments into Domino Day: Lone Witch, AMC+'s newest acquisition, it's evident that the series has no interest in wasting the viewers' time.

We delved right into the thick of it, none of the traditional pilot-itis that feels like a slog through background and character building before getting into the good content.

Instead, the series mostly throws us into the deep end, trusting us to follow the plot and figure things out along the way.

The premiere didn't feel so exposition-heavy that we were bogged down by it, which made it a refreshing watch altogether.

Budget-friendly streaming pay television service Philo has integrated AMC Plus into its core programming package.

Starting Wednesday, new customers of Philo will be able to access the entire AMC Plus library of movies and TV series, which include original programming and licensed content from AMC, Sundance Now, Shudder and IFC Films.

The integration of AMC Plus into Philo’s core programming package comes with a price adjustment that will see new and some existing customers pay $28 per month, or $3 more than what Philo cost without AMC Plus. Those who subscribed to Philo before Wednesday will remain grandfathered in to their programming package at a lower price, though they won’t be able to access AMC Plus unless they upgrade.

Set in Manchester, Domino Day revolves around a young renegade witch named Domino who is struggling to control her dark powers. When a local coven is alerted to her presence they race to stop her causing harm.

A beautiful young Black woman sits alone at a bar, waiting for her date to show. When he does, he orders for her, brays about his job in finance, objectifies her “caramel” skin, and later, tries to secretly film her – and worse.

On a different night out, a man tells the woman that she could be a model – not runway, but print – and that while he doesn’t usually go for Black girls, she’s the prettiest one there. She witnesses another man, whose mates are bellowing about taking girls “to pound town”, taking upskirt photos in a club. She makes a beeline for them all, and not because her dickhead radar is faulty but because it’s fully operational and when she gets these men into a dark corner… well, that would be telling.

We like to think of Pilot TV as the height of professionalism — a finely-honed product in which some of TV journalism's finest minds come together to share their wisdom. We like to think that. Evidence here to the contrary, though, as this one is an absolute shambles. James and Kay arrive unprepared, Boyd decides he'd much rather work with Helen and Dan, plus there's a whole thing about musicals. Honestly, it's a miracle we got through it at all.

Still, we did find time to watch Black Cake on Disney+, engage in some witchery with Domino Day on BBC Three, and catch up with Here We Go (again).

Set in the Dark Ages. Jonathan Ross is to host the UK coverage of the Oscars as the world’s biggest movie awards ceremony shifts to ITV for the first time. ITV has unveiled its coverage for the 96th Academy Awards, with Ross hosting an Oscars party on March 10 from 10.30 p.m. GMT (2.30 p.m. Pt) and an official stream of the Oscars red carpet set for Itvx along with behind-the-scenes content. The following day, the full ceremony will be streamed on Itvx and there will be a highlights package on ITV 1 in the evening. Lupin maker Gaumont has launched a production services division. Helmed by Roxanne Pinheiro, who was previously Head of Production for the outfit’s TV distribution unit, Gaumont Production Services will oversee shoots in France for both Gaumont and third-party producers from around the world. Pinheiro, whose past credits include the likes of The Walking Dead, 15:17 to Paris and Fifty Shades of Grey, will work closely with filmmaker William Pruss. “Together, surrounded by a thriving team and Gaumont’s centennial network, we’ll make sure our clients get the best of what France has to offer, in terms of production value and overall experience,” said Pinheiro.
