Jeyran tells a fictional story from the historical events after the death of Amir Kabir and focuses on the fate of Jeyran, one of the concubines of Naser al-Din Shah's harem. The series depicts a forbidden love, power struggles in the court, political conspiracies and intrigues, and a picture of court life in the Qajar era.
Jeyran is a well-made and entertaining series that, despite some weaknesses, has managed to attract many viewers thanks to its strong direction, acceptable acting, and engaging storytelling. If you are looking for a series that tells a romantic and adventurous story in the setting of the Qajar era, Jeyran can be a good choice for you.

This series is not what I expected. It fails in keeping the audience eager to watch the next episodes. It just enjoy some beauties. The beauty of women, clothes, locations like Golestan palace. The only attractive elements for me are these mentioned factors. The storyline is just a weak one. Full of cliches. No creativity and novelty. No rich dialogue. The act of Bahram Radan is too weak. But Merila Zaree and Parinaz Izadyar's performances are just perfect. I expected a rich series just like Shahrzad which was the best work of Fathi but I think Shahrzad was highly rated for its rich scenariyo by Naghme Samimi and Fathi which was full of novelty and deep words and dialogues.
This series is supposed to be a historical show written from a drama perspective. The director is a well known and famous one previously produced remarkable series such as "Madar e sefr darajeh" and "Shahrzad".
However, this latest work was nothing compared to them, it is poorly written, without any significant events in an episode. Too many fiction events which deteriorates the quality of a historical show with many wrong languages used like switching frequently between modern and old Farsi.
Scenes are too poorly written and although there are many skilled actors in the show, I still couldn't enjoy the series.

In the beginning of the series, most of the events are based on reality but as the series moves on, you start to realize that a lot of things are inaccurate compared to reality. For instance, the character Siavosh is completely made up and the war between Ghajar and Zand didn't actually happen during the rule of Naseredinshah. What is also very disappointing is the fact that this series is called a historical one and more than half of the events are not even close to reality. And don't even get me started on the ending, I won't spoil it for anyone but it was horrible and again very off and inaccurate. If you're looking for a historical one, this is not for you but it makes for a nice fictional romance.
Bahram Radan, Prinaz Izdiar and Amiri Jafari were unique, and Merila Zarei was as great as ever. Singing the credits and songs of the series by Homayoun Shajarian was a unique choice. Thanks to Mr. Fathi for this selection and also thanks to Fardin Khalatbari.
