Goofs

Der Rebell - Von Leimen nach Wimbledon

Edit

Factual errors

In the movie Günther Bosch asked Boris Becker's parents to take him in order to train and support him. In real life it was the wish of Becker's parents.
In 1985 Boris Becker said that the Pope wants to meet him. This event actually took place in December 1986.
Karl-Heinz Becker said that Günther Bosch was Davis Cup Team leader. In real life Bosch was playing in the Romanian Davis Cup team as the third player.
Günther Bosch left the German Tennis Union DTB in 1984, not in 1983.
When practicing the first time in the Monte Carlo Tennis club Bosch mentioned that Becker is 16. In a later scene Ion Tiriac suggested for him to move to a new flat in Monaco. In real life this event happened when Boris Becker was 15, not 16.

Anachronisms

When Boris Becker is walking down the street after returning to Leimen in 1985 he is listening to "A Little Respect" by Erasure on his walk-man. The song was released in 1988.
During the love scene between Boris Becker and Fabienne and training montage for Wimbledon the song "Brand New Toy" by The Jerery Days from 1988 is played. The scene is set 1986.
"Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen, a song from 1984, is played in the tournament montage set in 1976-1982.
