    Powerful

Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Women is a powerful and deeply moving documentary. The featured actresses are nothing short of remarkable-resilient, talented, and inspiring in their journeys through the often exclusionary world of Hollywood. Their stories highlight the persistent challenges Black women face in an industry historically dominated by white narratives.

It's time for the Academy and the broader film industry to stop overlooking these women and fully recognize their talent, impact, and contributions. Black women are strong, beautiful, and eloquently carrying leading roles. They should no longer be fighting to break down doors-instead, we should be holding those doors open and making sure they stay open for future generations of Black actresses.

The documentary itself is beautifully produced and incredibly compelling. If there was one shortcoming, it was the choice of seating-these women, true queens, deserved to be interviewed in chairs worthy of their stature, not small wooden rattan seats.

Overall, I highly recommend watching this insightful and necessary film. It brings long-overdue attention to critical issues and, hopefully, sparks the change that Hollywood so urgently needs.
