I don't even know where to start but let me tell you this film definitely tugged at my heart. I typically don't watch films within this genre but I am so glad I did. It touched upon such relevant topics without feeling like I've heard or seen it before. The story telling, directing and acting exceeded my expectations and actually made me want to rewatch since it was that good. The timeline of the film never felt too long and the scenarios actually made me relive my own personal moments and that very rarely happens, when watching films. It was refreshing to take a step back from all the blockbusters and get back to real stories. We need more films like this. Definitely a must watch film!

A very thoughtful and engaging movie that deals with real and difficult social issues and issues of love and family as experienced by a young interracial family during the covid lockdown and the social upheaval that followed the killing of George Floyd. Wonderful storyline and remarkable cast with great chemistry. Very real, believable, and relatable from beginning to end. The struggle and enduring love of both was made palpable, and indeed finding the grays is critical. This is an entertainment that is at once heart warming, intelligent, and educational. A rare quality film, I was surprised to have stumbled on on YouTube and I highly recommend.
I enjoyed this film tremendously. There aren't many films today that are bold enough to tackle the many polarizing issues confronting us in today's America. The way these confounding issues are presented - in the context of a committed marriage - makes for a compelling, intimate, real life drama that no doubt is being played out everyday in our fractured society. The story pits two people with opposing views on multiple issues - BLM, COVID - attempting to find common ground - the ever elusive middle - that will allow their marriage to survive.
The acting is superb, the direction sensitive and as we are drawn into these characters lives and POV's we find ourselves struggling to not so much take sides with one or the other but to yearn for some kind of resolution.
The conclusion does not disappoint.

I had the good fortune of seeing this movie at a screening in Atlanta. It recently came out on Amazon, and I watched it again. It was even better upon second viewing. It was one of the most honest and heartfelt movies I've seen in years. The writing, the dialogues were brilliant and very moving. I generally don't love indie dramas of this nature, but this film had something special. It really captured with we all went through in 2020. It made me cry, but also it made me laugh, and it made me think about a lot of things. I highly recommend this movie. You can even watch this movie with your family.
Black White and the Greys is absolutely fantastic! I was especially amazed when I learned that Marchelle Thurman, Casey Nelson and their producers (Jay Jablonski and Jessica Mathews) only took six weeks to write, produce, and direct in this film! Every character and discussion was treated with such nuance and thoughtfulness. Most of it took place in one location but it never felt claustrophobic. There were nice moments of levity at just the right time. I also appreciated the natural performances all around. We have all scene film about marriages and relationship falling apart under strain and stress but this film offers a new take and leaves us feeling hopeful.
