The show is phenomenal! Do not listen to the bad reviews. I repeat do not listen to the bad reviews. This is a good adaptation to the Billy the Kid story. There is lots of controversy about what really happened to Billy the Kid. Some say he was killed by Pat Garrett and others say him Pat Garrett and other officials made a deal with Billy the Kid and basically faked his death. So the writers can pretty much go in any direction they want to with this show. And it is extremely well written and extremely well acted. I am blown away by the show. I rank it up there with 1921 and Yellowstone. It's that good! It might even be better in its own right. Do yourself a favor and watch this series. You will not be disappointed. Thank you MGM! And please give us a season 3!
Billy The Kid really puts into perspective that things aren't as black and white as they are portrayed. It begs the question: is Billy The Kid really a good person? Tom Blyth's performance as Billy The Kid really captures the essence of his character well. You can see just how remorseful Kid Antrim is for the things he's done. Daniel Webber and the guy who played Henry Antrim did a fantastic job at making me angry. It sucks that they left us on such a cliffhanger with the reintroduction of Pat Garrett and I'm so excited for the rest of season 2. A lot of people say that it fell short with the historical aspect of things and I agree there but all in all, it's an entertaining and intriguing show about the life of a famous outlaw, Billy The Kid.
An entertaining and well-made adaptation of the life and times of Billy the Kid. The style is ruggedly realistic, wonderfully depicting the harsh unfairness of life. The beauty of the landscape is in stark contrast to the selfish exploitation by the 'haves' of the 'have-nots'.
Outstanding performances from Eileen O'Higgins, Jonah Collier and Tom Blyth, collectively portraying the close bond of a mother-son relationship.
The opening episode sets the scene brilliantly, despite a sluggish step. Subsequently the pace picks up, delivering a fascinating action-packed story with some fabulous dialogue and gorgeous cinematography. Highly recommended viewing.

Billy the Kid is obviously a series based on the infamous outlaw, William H. Bonney a.k.a. Billy the Kid. This series tries to give you a fresh take on Billy's story, it shows him as more of the good guy than the gunslinging outlaw we all know him as. They actually make Billy into a sympathetic figure. Listen, Emilio Estevez from Young Guns will always be my favorite Billy the Kid but Tom Blyth does a really good job here as Billy. Daniel Weber also does a great job as Jesse Evans. The way they show their close friendship and how they ended up on different sides is worth watching. The first season is mostly an origin story of how William H. Bonney became the outlaw Billy the kid. The second season is so full of action and story it's hard to stop watching.
If you are looking for a good western, look no further. This is not only entertaining, but if you do the homework you'll find it is mostly historical fiction. The characters and events of this show are based on true facts and it was a bit of ? As to why the creators weren't marketing this more. They did take the time to duplicate almost all the known facts of Billy and weave them into a heck of a story. We watch Billy grow from a young boy to one of the most notorious outlaws in the American West. Billy the Kid...Anti-Hero. Well done all around and absolutely worth the time, double up on your go-to speed if you're a fan of Westerns and/or historical fiction.
