Sneaky snark; disarmingly dark; really funny

Initially, Samantha's looks, delivery and material set us first-timers up for a routine by a gentle observational comic. But the longer you watch, the greater the payoff as she pulverizes a bunch of (deserving) celebs, and crushes with a slew of surprisingly dark punch lines. The latter reminds me of Anthony Jeselnik, whose best jokes end up shockingly beyond whatever norms most are expecting. Those who assume she's offering a garden-variety act from that mild opening, and stop watching early will have missed the best parts of her set, and the most interesting aspects of her persona.
