I could kiss Dave Filoni (on the cheek)
Anyone who gives this less than a 10 is objectively a pure critic and doesn't deserve Star Wars. This is the absolute peak of Star Wars.
I work in 3D and have experience in CGI and I had my hands on my head the whole time, this is the first time I was absolutely gob smacked at how perfect the CG was in the majority of the shots.
An objective 10/10.
But hang on, where was he again? The Star of the Show! Maybe this is all smoke and mirrors and next week he goes completely'Bad Ass' to justify (nod to someone else in the episode there) why we have this show.
Can't wait to find out, it's going to be a long long week waiting,
This is for me the most enjoyable episode of the show so far with some splendid fan service. I know this might seem childish, but I don't care, Star Wars was always about the escapism for me.
There is a strong opening scene with a great presence from Timothy Olyphant before the plot deviates and returns.
It feels like Disney has abandoned the concept of focussing purely on Boba Fett and moved on to other more popular characters. So much so it pulls out some very big guns. I'm not sure if this is a sign of failure from the initial Fett story to hook the audience or if it is a planned expansion of the overarching franchise narrative, but much like the previous episode it has breathed life into a slow moving serialised story that was relatively flat at times.
The bulk of the episode contains epic fan service that I will not spoil. Just go with it and enjoy if you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise and you should not be disappointed. It's hard to tell if this is pure service or laying the foundations for future stories, but I hope it is the latter. Given the way it ends, I have some high hopes.
At last the Tatooine scenes get a decent level of threat and urgency, mainly due to a much needed villain reveal. For the first time I want to see what happens in this conflict between Fett and the Pykes.
As ever the production values are outstanding.
Disney have cracked open a gift that could go on for years, the combo of The Mandolorian and Boba Fett is coming together here to shoot the franchise into peoples minds again, cannot wait for the next episode.

- TriviaGeorge Lucas modeled Cad Bane after American actor Lee Van Cleef's character of Angel Eyes from the movie The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). While the resemblance isn't as noticeable in the animated series which Bane has appeared in, some of Van Cleef's facial features are incorporated into the prosthetics created for his live action debut. Most noticeably, Bane's chin is sculpted to look like Van Cleef's, as are his high angular cheekbones.
- GoofsAhsoka is of the Togruta species. Like Twi'leks, they have head appendices called Lekku, that grow longer with age. In "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (up to 19BBY), Ahsoka's Lekku are short. In "Star Wars Rebels" (1BBY), they have grown considerably longer. Now, 10 years later, in the live action version, they are short again. Jedi Master Shaak Ti shows the normal adult length of Togruta Lekku.
- Quotes
Cad Bane: Cobb Vanth.
Cobb Vanth: And who might you be?
Cad Bane: Whatever Fett is paying you, we'll match, and all you've got to do is stay put and let things play out.
Deputy Scott: Hey, the Marshal ain't for sale.
Cobb Vanth: I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name.
Cad Bane: I'd be careful where I was sticking my nose if I were you.
Cobb Vanth: Is that friendly advice or a threat?
Cad Bane: Boba Fett is a cold-blooded killer who worked with the Empire.
Cobb Vanth: You tell your spice runners Tatooine is closed for business. This planet's seen enough violence.
Cad Bane: You should've never given up your armor.
[he reveals his blaster in its holster, and Cobb instinctively reaches for his own; after a tense standoff, Scott makes the first move, but Bane gets the better of them both]
Cad Bane: Tatooine belongs to the Syndicate. As long as the spice keeps running, everyone will be left alone.
