Summary
Reviewers say 'Borat's American Lockdown' elicits mixed reactions. Some applaud Sacha Baron Cohen's humor and character, deeming it hilarious and insightful. Others criticize it for being overly political, targeting specific groups, and lacking the unbiased humor of his earlier work. Disappointment arises over perceived loss of originality and failure to present coherent arguments or engage audiences effectively. The film is noted for riling up political groups, which some find amusing while others see it as a missed opportunity for broader, inclusive humor.

The series is funny but more importantly it's really getting all the magat cultists riled up who think evidence based medicine is a liberal conspiracy so that's always nice.
Mind you the two men he is living with are shooting off a irrational amount of inconclusive rants. But, I feel that Sacha Baron Cohen has gone just as far as these guys, only in the opposing direction by just mocking them.
It used to be really funny when he would mock politicians and people in power on the Ali G show and such. Now, he is clearly targeting a specific archetype of people. We get it. They are not his type or Hollywood, or the media.
I think it would have been funnier if he had poked fun at the political powers on both sides. I find it amateur that he is going after 2 men that were kind enough to invite him into their house during a pandemic.
I used to love his Cohen's content. He used to just be unbiased. No sides taken. Just poking fun at the ridiculousness of politics. Now, he just mocking one side of the spectrum. Which now, is definitely needed on both sides.
Sure, these guys are on what is known as the "far-right". But, they were polite and kind to him entire visit and to take an immigrant in to their home as a guest and treated him with respect and dignity.
I really lose respect for these guys that lose their ways and start disrespecting the little people and mock them. Just because their views dont align with your own. Yes, they are a little "off" with some of their conspiracies. But, at the end of the day...even people with opposing views put you where you are.

Wow! What a great little movie put together showing Borat's five night stay with two mentally ill human beings. This gives more insight to the lock in and how they got to the Sheep Rally in Washington.
This has a low rating because the movie offended a lot of Trump and Qanoners who were born without a sense of humor.

It's unfortunate. I've always enjoyed Sasha's work. This series had it moments between the leftist beliefs and now, presently, false facts. Disappointing. He could have had so much good material but instead it was politicized. Real shame.
Just to clarify, I'm not from the USA so I couldn't care less who the president of USA is.
This show could have been funny but it was bloated with anti trump and pro biden propaganda.
Sacha Baron Cohen should stick to what make him famous instead of pushing an agenda. Gets boring really quick, Just a shame.
