Was this the greatest movie I've seen? No. With that said there was never a part I did not enjoy. Everyone thinks they are movie critics and expect every movie to be a classic. This movie was different from so many other movies. It had great acting, a decent story line and a twist at the end. They did all this with out having to spend massive amounts of money. This is a movie that will give you a thriller/mystery/fantasy all in one. The ending with leave you to interpret that in your own. If people relax and just watch movies with no expectation they will realize that they will start enjoying a lot more movies.
The Beast Within is one of those films that you finish and immediately wish you hadn't started. Despite having two lead actors who found success in Game of Thrones, this movie is a complete letdown. The plot drags on endlessly, the characters are paper-thin, and the dialogue is clumsy and uninspired. You keep waiting for something to happen, but it never does.
It feels like the filmmakers thought they had a clever concept, but it just doesn't work. The supposed horror elements are poor at best, and the story is almost none existent and incredibly frustrating. There's some tension, no real scares, and no reason to care about anything that's happening on screen short of being frustrated by the poor choices the main characters constantly make.
Honestly, it's hard to believe this movie got made, and I can't help but think it only did because of the actors' recent fame. Do yourself a favour and skip this one. It's not worth the time or effort.

An allegory (for the most part) on domestic abuse using a werewolf story. The atmosphere it created through the location, and music worked really well. The acting was really good, especially the ten or so-year-old protagonist. There were a lot of great ideas in it but it kind of feels a little bit stretched when they could've explored a lot more withing the setting. The ending really felt unnecessary explaining away how the girl is an unreliable narrator. There's a lot in the movie that makes sense with that ending but that would be readable even without that. But there are a lot more questions that can rise from that ending. This could've been really great if the script was reworked more. The characters could've been explored a lot more. There were many scenes that felt weird. But even with all that, the idea was good and a lot of it did work pretty well. Definitely felt that it's better than all the reviews give it credit for.
Unwatchably dull though beautifully shot ... The child is good ... James Cosmo is always good ... The woman was really annoying ... Harrington only works well with a good director ... The landscapes were wonderful ... But this should have been a werewolf film and kept to the idea of what it was ... Instead we get a director with ideas of trying to be clever ... What should have been the underlying idea of broken family and possible alcoholism ( ??? ) are instead to upfront instead of subconcious and drag this down into total tedium instead of running with excitement and having dark fun with it ... This totally comes down to direction and possibly editing, though its smooth enough... Not worth your time.
A movie like this made in 2024 surprises me. The female lead is a good actress. Kit has the same expressions he carried forward from game of thrones, even the voice tone. The
Put some effort guys.
It's been a while that we have seen a real good massive blockbuster movie.
Post covid industry has taken too long to come up to speed.
The beast within is a waste of time. It's so slow makes you fall 😴 asleep.
And rhe director was so lazy he did not even bother to use CGI to show a proper beast to sort of create an impact.
Reminds me of 90s series " Manimal".
It is by no means better than " the manimal".
