    Pay Close Attention!

The Tomorrow Job: A time Travel caper where a gang of thieves use drugs to to trade their consciousnesses with their future selves. They steal data which is used by a mysterious organisation. There is plenty of room for paradoxes here and the "dead" coming back to life as the drugs also allow their future selves to transfer back in time. This is all in spite of the gang leader's carefully constructed scenarios to prevent such paradoxes and time loops. The gang come under attack by operatives who apparently come from decades in the future. The mechanics of the time travel is well handled and the drug has a backstory. The script is pretty good at keeping the tension high as actions (and actors) are undone and redone. Maybe it is a bit too clever for it's own good though, as another reviewer wrote: "This is definitely not a movie for those with short attention spans or low intelligence". I certainly enjoyed this good made for TV SF Thriller. Written and Directed by Bruce Wemple. Showing again on Sky sci-fi on 22 January at 9 pm. 7/10.

    Strange syfy that's entertaining

This film was not exactly terrible. I'll give it credit and it's definitely not the worst syfy channel indie film I've seen as this didn't have any terribe CGI in it. Caitlin Duffy is certainly the better of the actors in this film and her performance was the most interesting to watch. Other characters did well but they were flat. The tomorrow job is about three thieves. In this time line there is a drug that lets you travel forward in time and it helps see things that might happen, and they want to steal what the future holds. There's loads of stuff about paradox's and what not and overall it was easy to follow, thoug confusing at times witg good and bad acting. But an interesting enough plot to make it entertaining.

good script delivers a watchable movie

This is a low-budget time travel puzzle.

The film is packed with sleazy characters. There is a tension in the relationships between characters. There is no character development. Certainly, the film would have been better with the characters better fleshed out.

The direction does not rise above made-for-TV movie. There are no memorable artful shots.

What makes this movie worth watching is the storytelling. You know what is going on out of context, but don't know why it is going on (the context), especially early on. Contextual details fill in that keep you interested while leaving more mystery to be unraveled. By the end, including the coda, you can put all the pieces together to create a coherent comprehension of what you watched.

The movie moves at a good pace, neither rushed nor lingering.

The movie is not so compelling that you'll want to watch it twice. There are no revelations in the film later that add deeper meaning to earlier scenes.

This movie is enjoyable enough if you like mysteries and sci-fi themes. This is definitely not a movie for those with short attention spans or low intelligence.

    Ridiculous plot

I only gave this about 15 minutes before giving up. The whole idea is to take a pill to go one day forward into your future self for an hour. One day! To set up some caper to steal company secrets or whatever, it didn't really matter. There isn't much you can do with only an hour just one day ahead. Going back a day might be useful to stop a loved one from dying in an accident, but that's not this story. And why go to the trouble of stealing secrets? When it hit me that it would make far more sense to go one day into the future to get the lottery results and become a billionaire, I decided it wasn't worth watching this ridiculous movie any longer.

    Barely Watchable

I'm not sure how this movie has even the meager rating that it does, because it was so patently unwatchable. Absurd plot with Dr. Who type one-dimensional characters pulling the strings behind the scenes along with wooden acting of stereotypical roles. The biggest insult to the viewer was the rushed and convoluted Hail Mary ending. Only a couple of the actors were palatable out of the entire cast. I got the feeling a high school film student could have done better on an iphone. All told, there was not a single redeeming quality to this film other than it was a distraction while I prepared dinner on a week night. In retrospect, however, I probably should have turned on some music. Take a pass on this one.
