Can't actually believe that someone put money into making this. Where to begin... 1) acting... not to be seen in this. They have little to no emotions, chemistry and are wooden. 2) Actors are meant to be teens but are anything but 3) script... cringe af 4) I can't even with the wardrobe 5) the "bad" vampires look like zombies 6) why can the "good' vampires be killed so easily? 7) why do those dhamp-things have "bad" vampire like powers when they are created by the weak "good" vampires? 8) The cgi for that crash, those dogs and the other stuff is, well you know, cringe 9) why does the set rarely change and look like a literal stage? 10) Why is everyone together when they don't even know each other? Relationships don't just happen like that.
I could go on, but I don't want to. Clearly you can see by what I've written that nothing is explained and everything is cringe.

I saw that this had a low rating but I don't always agree with ratings, so, I watched the first instalment and I am pretty sure I will never watch another episode of this tragedy.
I expected young coming of age tropes but I did not expect it to be so humourless, so paint by the numbers, and a cast of characters I have zero interest in. Too much sorrows of the hyper privileged narcissistic teens played by adults.
I can not say anything positive about this. I believe they had a pre teen audience in mind when making this irritating waste of time and money.
I feel that this one is so bad that the actors will embarrassed to be associated with this bit of fantasy garbage. The writing is low end, the dialogue is stilted, and the plot is absurdly predictable.

I really don't understand why they give popular, lore rich book franchises to peoples who do not have slightest idea about them, this is not Vampire Academy, not at all. Writers, actors, producers everyone involved in making this, including peacock, are trashing these beloved books, bad reviews are justified, do not watch this if you are a real fan of the books, because they have butchered vampire academy beyond recognition and repair. I'm not even sure if I will ever look at the books the same way after watching a few minutes of an episode of this, or ever again at this rate. I guess the cash was too good to turn down for RM. π‘
Not appropriate for anyone 18 and under, but it's also too immature to be for adults, so I'm not too sure who the target audience is. I can't say I will stick around to watch any more episodes, managed to watch the first 5, as I just didn't find it to have that certain spark that pulls you back in for more, which other new shows do have. The acting and script were both very mediocre, and I think that plays a huge part in why I couldn't get into this show. I also found it to be very rushed and not well explained, so I was confused as to what was happening most of the time, so with all of those things, I just couldn't get into even though I wanted too.
Just finished episode 6 and I'll keep watching it til the end. I just honestly can't get over rose and her mums accent; why add an Aussie and kiwi accent? It's so distracting. Rose has been miscast, her Turkish roots play a role in the story. And I'm sorry but she's quite a weak actress. I feel like I'm casting they've gone down a run sheet and ticked a whole heap of boxes. The thing is, this story and the nationality of key characters are part of the story
Unfortunately the costumes are worse then the casting....like where do you even start. A complete disaster
Don't compare it to the books and it's ok.
