Spirit People Jerry Matz and Hazel J. Medina are real life husband and wife. Director Steve Harper first worked with Medina when he was a production assistant on the Negro Ensemble Co. play "Two Can Play" when he was in high school.
Spirit Person Virginia Worley and Assistant Director Geoffrey Breedon both worked with director Steve Harper in Breedon's apocalyptic film "Dark September Rain".
Actress Teresa Hegji (Betty) and Patricia Kelley (off-screen Paula) and director Steve Harper are all graduates of the A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard. The film was shot in Kelley's Brooklyn home (she also served as art director).
