    Just watch totally killer

To say that this was ripped off of prime's 'totally killer' would be the understatement of the year.

The only reason I'm giving this a 3/10 is due to Madison Bailey's (also known for her role in Outerbanks) performance as she genuinely tried to work with what she given and made the film bearable to watch to the end, she is literally the only saving grace of this entire film.

Antonia Gentry (Summer) is in dire need of an acting coach, her performance in this film and in general as an actor is stiff and she literally offers us the audience nothing. To quote the one and only Patti Lupone 'she can't act her way out of a paper bag'. The film's killer was predictable and one could tell who it was from a mile away so it left nothing wonder about. I'm not certain why Netflix opted to rip off 'totally killer' but they failed miserably and offered nothing new to the table.

If Disney did a slasher movie

Sometimes when they make slasher movies that aren't gory they end up good, like "Happy Death Day" or "Countdown" because they have to be creative and build suspense. This isn't one of those times. There are no good suspenseful moments, there are no jump scares.

There is the mystery about the killer and a bit of unique fun with the possible effect saving someone might have. That earns it about a 5.5 rating.

If you were a teen in 2003 then the nostalgia might be enough to make it more enjoyable.

It never gets annoying enough to turn off but it also never gets good enough to make it really worth while.

I know that they rarely use actual teenagers to play high school students but Summer often looked old enough to be playing someone's mom.

    Family Friendly Slasher

I didn't have high expectations for this film but I really didn't expect it to be so tame. It had potential but it fell short in almost every way. There is almost no blood in this, which is crazy for a slasher movie. I don't think I've ever seen that before. The only blood shown is in the aftermath, there is none actually shown during any of the kills. The kills are pretty boring with nothing original about them. A lot of the outfits and styles used were not how it was back in 2003. It's almost as if they didn't consult someone who was really in school at that time. This would actually be a great film for introducing someone to the genre if they are not a horror fan. This is about as family friendly as a slasher movie gets. There is no blood/gore, sex, or swearing. Anyone accusing this movie of copying "Totally Killer" is wrong because this movie was filmed a whole year before. However, Totally Killer is a far superior movie and I recommend giving that one a watch.

    Watch Totally Killer instead...

Im hoping other reviewers mentioned the same thing.

Because this was the biggest rip off if ive ever seen one. Also why was this serious and dramatic? If youre gonna come up with a ridiculous plot and storyline can we atleast make it fun??

This had zero fun. The best part about time machine plots is seeing past and future selves of everyone and we got about zero of that here...Also the slasher was absolutely predictable. I thought to myself i hope i have this wrong. Cause it would be too obvious if it was indeed the person i was thinking. Lo and behold...it was. -_-

I do however want to take a moment and give a huge shout out to the person who handled the 00s jamz. As a millennial that was probably my favourite thing about this entire movie. Every song that was chosen was an absolute banger!

What should have been a short 90mins movie became the longest one ive ever seen. Time i will never get back. (Unfortunately i dont have that Time Machine to go back to when i didnt watch this)

Verdict? Skip this one and watch Totally Killer on Prime. Guaranteed laughs and fun!

NOT a rip-off of Totally Killer (this was written first) - but also NOT very good.

I wanted to like this one. I love time travel movies - especially when it involves scenarios like this story (someone was killed in the past and the protagonist tries to change the situation), as they also often involve a mystery (like this one did as well). Some folks might see a lot of similarities between this film and Totally Killer, which came out last year. They also might feel like this was a ripoff of the other movie, but this was written before Totally Killer, so this seems to just be a matter of timing for both films. Totally Killer wasn't a huge hit for me, so I was hoping that this would end up being a more enjoyable experience, but sadly that wasn't the case. While it got off to an interesting start, the contrivances and ludicrous scenarios (like a couple of teens being able to slip easily through the gates of a NUCLEAR FACILITY WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT) - as well as the "forbidden love" scenario that played out in here (which felt inserted just for the sake of messaging) - were just too much. And the reveal of the killer (who I had already guessed) was so ridiculous and did not hold up to any level of scrutiny. The main actor also wasn't very convincing (or likable) for me, and I got a bit weary of the constant creased forehead/worried/conflicted/sad/tormented expression she wore pretty much the entire film. On top of that, she constantly contradicted herself with her actions/decision-making. The ending was also rushed and nonsensical, despite its attempt to come up with a "solution" that solved all the problems. It just felt forced and unfortunately did not stick the landing.
