Dull. The best word to describe this series. The second-best way to describe it? Fatally flawed.
Jeopardy and WOF have been on the air for decades because the audience at home can play along, by the very nature of this competition the home audience cannot play along with the vast majority of challenges presented here, because you can't taste what they are experiencing. This fault will cause this series to flop from the get-go.
And without the ability to play along at home, we're left with dialogue and lots of standing around to keep us entertained. It doesn't work.
I believe the only way to improve this series would be to cut out the completely pointless time waster speed round, and edit it so that 3-4 contestants play each episode. There are 2 episodes of the 5 where there is only enough time to show 1 player, and there is just not anything compelling enough about this show to have 1 player carry an entire episode.
Other stray observations: The guest who tests stuff with the contestants makes sense, the other person has no purpose. Why are they there? Play by play?
Kal isn't a terrible host, but this was a terrible format anyone would fail at making exciting. Probably the most bored I've ever been watching any game show.

I found the format tedious. The contestants have to guess what is in prepared food while the TV audience just watches from afar with nothing to engage them. In addition, the.1.
I realize this year went down hill in programing and production sets can't have a bunch of people on them but other shows have figured it out.
This show has "five" people on air. Kal, who's a good actor in the right roll but not a Food Network host. The contestant. Two "helpers" for the contestant and some poor guy who has to play "butler." I felt bad for the butler. All five blended together didn't have the energy of The Bunny after his batteries have finally run out.
The contestants are dim bulbs. I was able to guess some of the answers by looks of the plates alone in 30 seconds and it took the contestant 10 minutes. Who are these people? Where did they get them.
The only reason I even left the TV on Food Network while this was on was because I was waiting for "Guy's Grocery Games" and I didn't want to miss that. I will never willingly turn this show on. It's basically not entertaining and boring.

The premise of this show is that they have to answer questions based on eating things and identifying the foods. The only problem is that as a viewer, you can't play along because the show is designed for the answers to not be evident based on appearance. In an episode I saw, a girl had to identify the flavor of cotton candy that was plain white in color, which is impossible to guess as a viewer.
Another major issue with the show is that it's designed to be impossible for the contestants to win. They need to get through 8 rounds with only two "lifelines", and no safety net. Meaning if they get even one question wrong they lose. Furthermore, there is apparently no way for them to leave with any money unless they win the whole thing.
Another major issue with this show is the pacing which is very slow. They end up repeating the same sentences over and over when answering the questions to eat up time. The host and other people are kind of annoying/unlikeable.

What else do you need to know? This show stinks just like the host.
