Hong Kong's official submission to 2022's Oscars is decent and inspiring. Its true story is uplifting and beautiful. It's an emotional roller coaster. It's only issue is that at times it gets cheesy and dramatic in a forced way. Performances are great. All in all, it's still very good and enjoyable.
The life of So Wah Wah, the multiple gold medals winner in Olympics. He was born as handicapped, but he liked running a lot and represented Hong
Kong. This movie was mainly about him and how his mom did not give up on him. Like the theme that 'You walk slower than the others, but you run faster.' I forgot his performance, but when I saw that he has to give up running to do a living, and won a gold medal in Beijing with a new world record, was so so touched... :>
I hope to remember those words!
I watched for inspiration and inspired I was...
Every one doesn't need to be famous or to be extraordinary but we all can be moved to be the best version of ourselves--to overcome impossibles. To "do" when others say "can't"; even if in small ways.
Though part of the Netflix brand, this movie is low budget and uses voice overs. Overlook this, activate your imagination and allow yourself to be inspired!
When sad, it allows me to see that life can be worse; others have it harder. Happiness doesn't need riches. Poor families can have joy.

It's a warm story that'a easy to watch and get into for a relaxing time. It's well made and it's fun to watch Ng Kwan Yu take this on so well as the loving mother. It's just fun.
It's cheesy.
But if you're in the mood for a good tear jerker, this is well done. It's based on the true story of So Wai Wa, paralympian who participated in 3 Paralympics and still holds current records in track, which is quite an accomplishment for a Hong Kong athlete. The struggles of the protagonist and the mother are at the center of the drama. Some very real issues include worrying about the future of a handicapped person after the parents are gone, the bankability of an athlete, equal pay for all athletes, poverty... but for me personally is the responsibility (guilt) of parents of handicapped children that can be felt in this production piece.
Besides the drama, props must be given to the 3 actors who played the young, teenage and adult Do Wai Wa... so good! And the actress who played the mother, all made this drama work brilliantly!
Good Canto drama based on real events!
