Very meaningful story with extraordinary actors. Worth a watch to support HK film.
It's cheesy.
But if you're in the mood for a good tear jerker, this is well done. It's based on the true story of So Wai Wa, paralympian who participated in 3 Paralympics and still holds current records in track, which is quite an accomplishment for a Hong Kong athlete. The struggles of the protagonist and the mother are at the center of the drama. Some very real issues include worrying about the future of a handicapped person after the parents are gone, the bankability of an athlete, equal pay for all athletes, poverty... but for me personally is the responsibility (guilt) of parents of handicapped children that can be felt in this production piece.
Besides the drama, props must be given to the 3 actors who played the young, teenage and adult Do Wai Wa... so good! And the actress who played the mother, all made this drama work brilliantly!
Good Canto drama based on real events!

It is the first Hong Kong film I have seen on Netflix and it has not disappointed me; it is a very fascinating true story. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!
It's good that Netflix delivers quality content to us.

Such a great movie! So full of inspiration and courage, shows the struggles and hard life, sacrifice behind any sportive, especially a paralympic! The story of his mother that supports him in all possible ways, who gave all for him is so, so lovely. What a lesson of life for today generations and for further athletes! Love it! 👌
The life of So Wah Wah, the multiple gold medals winner in Olympics. He was born as handicapped, but he liked running a lot and represented Hong
Kong. This movie was mainly about him and how his mom did not give up on him. Like the theme that 'You walk slower than the others, but you run faster.' I forgot his performance, but when I saw that he has to give up running to do a living, and won a gold medal in Beijing with a new world record, was so so touched... :>

As its organizer, Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG), still held tenancy rights to the stadium, thus the pitch was left still untouched as an athletic venue as it was at the Olympics held weeks prior.
